Recently, due to a rather long hair I think, I took one of my characters up the Fencer tree; now she is a Master Fencer/Master Doctor. I love this class. My main, however is a Master Commando/TKM. In no way shape or form am I going to drop Commando. It is a sick masocistic fetish I have with blowin' chit up I think. I digress. My question is this. I'm thinking of dropping the TKM portion and going up the Master Swordsman line. I hardly ever PvP (just not my thing). From a PvE perspective and FP mission running, would the MC/MS template be a good one?

I wish I could help you, but then I would be a traitor against the rebel alliance. LONG LIVE THE REBELLION!

You'd have low defenses, but be really good at offensive PvE and taking down turrets. Not sure on swordsman PvP performance though, just keep in mind swordsman doesn't get a KD, I think*.

Appeciate the input. I've just been playing around with templates...I'm not trying to set up an type of PvP character (I don't do PvP enough and most of the time lose). Anyhow, just thought that with the damage output I could be more effective in PvE.

Just dropped swordsman for pistoleer, but I loved having swordsman. CoB is great with master, being able to target the mind every hit if you so desire is great asset in PvP or PvE. Going straight for mind in PvE with a rifleman friend or bh friend can really speed up kills. If you are interested in hunting nightsisters, you will find that the blast damage from a power hammer is a welcome addition to your arsenal. With no skill mods to the LP it isn't nearly as effective against NPC's or critters with low resistances to blast like you would hope.
The accuracy is a bit of a problem until you get to master level, but the overall dmg you do is very good with swordsman. There is not much to speak of on ranged and melee defense with that class, but at least you get counterattack and will retain your melee mitigation to couple with CoB. I just really loved the firepower I could produce with both commando and swordsman in any setting, but needed scout to harvest, so am now dropping it.
Really liked the ability to fire away with the flamer, burn em when in range, and switch to a scythe and proceed to finish the deal. Would never have dropped it if I didn't need to pick up novice scout, so gonna pick up pistol to make sure I still have some viable means of inflicting blast damage. Good luck on your choice

You might want to consider master commando / master smuggler as a combination for PvE. You can master both at the same time.
Commando - good for PvE missions
Smuggler - good for slicing mission terminals to hike up the payout for PvE missions and can buy / sell fp. (and you get all the free pixie you can handle!).
Sty - Master commando / soon to be master smuggler

I've been a Master Smuggler before and can't say that I enjoyed it too much. They have a few good shots in the Dirty Fighting line, but I've yet to see one that can take on a Krayt or take on Night Sisters. When I was a Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/Master Teras Kasi I always found myself in the melee side of things.
Also, as for the money, that is easy to make with 30K+ missions in solo groups.

Fair point
I don't tend to use the smugglers fighting abilities (no point if your a commando in PvE), more use the smugglers slicing ability to increase mission payouts, then the commando's destructive abilities to do the mission.

Depending upon what I'm fighting, I switch out a lot....FlameSingle2, FlameCone2 then TK...well, now Swords...currently I'm just working the swords and not switching much. But I used to love FS2, KD2, FS2 dead

Hmmm....after traveling up the Swordsman tree I'm finding myself at crossroad that I'm unsure upon how to follow. Do I keep Master Commando or do I drop all but the FT tree? My alternative if I drop it would be the following template:
Master Swordsman
TK Meditation 4
Commando FT4
Novice Medic
Leaving me with a total of 12 SPs.
