Commando Archive

Well.. after 2 months of flamesingle2 I have dropped Commando. I might be back, if the combat rebalance sorts something out or we get some other decent weapons.

Reasons?

- High heat resists on most high level mobs and a complete lack of usable alternative weapons esp. that do blast damage

- i.e. When you need to take out a turret or an AT-ST, who do you use, the swordsman with a powerhammer, or the guy with rockets that cost 2k each? Who will do more DPS and who will not miss?

- or the Heavy Acid Rifle - enough said

- or grenades - I miss as a master far too often and they are pointless anyway as you have to be so near to use them

- or the launcher pistol - what is the point ifI have to use Marksman specials?

- .. why have an acid stream launcher anyway?

other annoyances;

- Can only do decent damage within 16m of a target which leaves you very vulnerable to melee attacks, and the lack of melee defences (esp. against KD/Dizzy) really hinders - what is the point of the unarmed tree as it adds nothing usable to our profession

- A lack of working powerups or armour attachments

- PvP is a TOTAL joke - you might get lucky and hit someone with a flamesingle2 but more often than not they will dodge or you will miss and the 75% reduction + composite armour means you will do practically no damage; a decent doc will get the fire blanket out; all you are good for is causing wounds; then while you are waiting for the flamethrower to 'reload' you will be dead

I will miss flamecone2 on Janta and Mokk, and my 1.2 speed lag - sorry, launcher - pistol. Other than that I look forward to freeing up the skill points and trying out the other professions

.. oh and we're getting new armour at master? Great! I'll just find ALL the components and find a tailor, DE and armoursmith who will come with me and make ME my own set of armour, as well as 16 other people to try and survive the dungeon and of course, at the end, they will all be happy for me to take the set of armour.
