Thread: Best use for Rocket Launchers?

Hello commandos!

I'm a weaponsmith interested in selling rocket launchers, but the demand for them seems to have dropped lately. A couple of months ago I could sell a batch in 24 hours (on Eclipse) but now people doesn't seem that interested. Has something been nerfed or changed? I even lowered the price to about 60% of what these went for before.

I know some commandos smirk at the rocket launchers, claiming they never hit anything etc. but is this really true? My rockets have +54 to hit at ideal range, I'm hoping that helps a bit anyway. My question to you guys is basically: in what situations are these weapons useful? What are your best advice for using rocket launchers?

Also, any good advice to us weaponsmiths out there regarding rocket launchers? Should we sell directly to PvP clans? Krayt hunters? Where are these weapons useful to you?

Thankful for your opinions and advice,

/Navdo Vess

Ive only used about 4 shots in the past few months as well...3 of which was saturday/sunday 11 hour mission grind...it was on creatures that had blast vuln...a few good sized ones as well.....well 1-2 hit...and took like 1/3 of the ham (AR 1) of about 12k ham...I killed them faster with my FT.../sigh

I had a high accuracy about 20 min ago. At about 50-60m range, while kneeling (didn't aim), I think I hit with about all of the 18 shots I fired. That was as master commando btw.

Anyway, we're not really the kings of blast damage these days, the talk is that swordsmen does more damage than us with their power hammers. That alone doesn't make me want to rely on rocket launchers.

A little hijacking of the thread. I made some 3700 max dam rocket launchers. These are not sliced. I was wondering if these are good mediocre or bad rocket launchers. Cannot seem to find a commando that has a clue. From what I gather these things are more often used for atst fighting.

I only use them for attacking turrets, At master do they pretty good for accuracy on turrets, but against npc's and pc's its very hard to hit them. have a 50+ accuracy is nice but It will only help a little. and yes the 3700 dmg is nice as long as you didnt have to make thereally highto get that dmg.

I don't think you can miss when attacking structures/lairs.

It's because commandos have been taken down a notch with the DOT damage nerfs.

Most Commandos will not that when using a 30 shot RL, they will actually connect with their targets about 18 times...So the Accuracy is pretty bad even at the Master level.

As for how to best utilize them. PvE, I've found they are a good way to start a fight (since they force you to stop and kneel) or when in a group and the target isn't aggro'd on you...PvP, I've rarely found a good use for them as it is very hard to connect with a moving target...the only time I'd use them PvP is if it involves attacking a Player controlled Turrent...

Every Commando should have at least 1 or 2 RLs, but sales don't do well for RLs because hardly any Commandos use them these days...they only use them for special occasions which means they last a long time...I actually still have the same Damage sliced RL I bought when I first became a Commando...and it still has 18 shots left...
