WHERE DID THEY GET THE INSPIRATION TO MAKE COMMANDO WHAT IT IS IN TC-EP3?
I cant imagine Garvin, Stern, et al going in there and saying we want: "Tell you what, take away our /flamesingle1/2 and /flamecone1/2....While you are at it, we dont want any weapons specifically certified for Commando. Give them to anyone with a high enough CL"
Level based mob/npc damage system.
Icons (need I say more?)
Cheesy graphics and animations.
Seriously.
What signs did you guys completely miss that it was taking this direction??? Was it NEVER discussed? When was the brainstorming session behind what has transpired today? Was all of this just thrown at you with no discussion at all?
I am absolutely FURIOUS as to what happened with our weapons. Our specials, or complete lack thereof.
There you have it. The circle is complete. Commando is now the ultimate toolbox/dabbler profession. Hell, you dont even need a box in Commando to use our weapons.
I was (keyword) one of the biggest supporters of the CU. Now, I cant believe I supported the devs on this. I am seriously thinking that the game would be better off left as is. At least right now, Commando can be described as unique. Code in some defenses, some speed and accuracy for my flamer, fix the HAR, add some speed/accuracy to our heavy weapons, and be done with it.
Screw this WoW/EQ2 icon system. Screw this level based mob/NPC damage (that completely bypasses any armor you might be wearing - so why wear armor?). Screw it all. Lets just scrap the whole thing, and do some coding that SHOULD take about 3 weeks, and be done with it.
The more I think about it, the angrier I become. I'll just PvP with my jedi, and have some fun with my tailor/armorsmith.
