Thread: Controlled AoE and State Testing.

In response to Helios_SOE post in the Starnicks ability bug thread. I'm proposing that we conduct controlled testingon all our weapons for the AoE and State effect mods. This way, we canplan whatwe expect and what actually happens and give Helios his detailed results back.
Eg: Heavy Particle BeamCannon.
Vin is the tester and readsup on the weapon description and effects.The HPBC has a range of 40m and should KD everyone in a straight line. So with 8 assistants (cos NPCs dont do as they are told) we stand 5m in front of Vin and every 5m behind the next person, till we have a line of 8 people standing behind each other 5m apart.
Everyone duels Vin, to allow the testing. Vin targets the 1st in line and fires 1 shot. Target gets healed, and test data collected. Repeat 5 times. Next Vin targets the last in the line, and repeats the test again 5 times. Data is then collated and posted to Helios_SOE with results and the test used, so the devs can replicate the test conditions.
Or do you think this is a little too detailed?
We could do this on an evening at the weekend, if we got a group of people together.

First thing I logged in is check my PMs, which directed me to the bug thread, which I posted concerning an idea for a "bug party" - a get together to test and discuss, live, commando bugs on TC-Ep3. Im thinking around Saturday maybe.

Not a bad idea. I'll probably have the HPBC by tonight, we could do it then. Also, I'd like to test how well dueling works in the new system, and get a definite answer on the mods (if they exist) that are put in place between players of noticeably different levels in a duel.
BTW, it doesn't do a knockdown, it just fires right through them, or is supposed to.
