I've tried to be supportave and optimistic of all this change.....
but come on, we have lost all of our weapons certs! They are now tied to your level....does anyone know whether you even need the novice skill to use the weapon? Or could i say...go grab me some uber rifle and go to work?
If so, why bother spending the skill points for commando? We can just get rifleman/carbineer or some such...then use the commando weapons anyways.

Rifleman/carbineer don't get heavy weapon related accuracy and speed mods.
But yeah, Commando weapons are so unique that they ought to remain with the profession completely IMHO.

you get craploads of "general ranged accuracy" in rifleman and carbineer havent checked pistols.
This is enough to get me to cancel my preorder and changing my supcription to "cancelled"

Read the Novock thread please Seriah
Commando weaps are tied to skill AND level...not -all- weapons are tied just to level. Some are, others are but with skills...others even more beyond that...

Exactly what drugs did the Devs take to induce this bad trip? this is the worst idea I have heard yet, and WoW is sounding a lot better after this. I am a die hard swg commando, and I agree. Whats the point in being one if joe shmoe can pick up a bazooka and go to town on you (and probably win since we get sucky acuracy and cool down time).

Non-Iconic weapons will be used via CL. Iconic (profession defining) weapons will be used via CL + Skill box. Iconic and Racial Weapons will be CL + Skill Box + Racial.
Tonight's patch may fix the original implentation...but this is basically how it *should* be. And...all commando weapons are considered Iconic

In another thread Helios already responded that Commando weapons will remain box restricted, which means they are still tied to our Commando boxes and not up for grabs based on level.
