Thread: Conflicting info on CU Skill points allocations

I have been trying to glean as much information as i can but i am stil unsure as to how the allocation of skill points will work post-CU.


I have Master Marksman, Commando 1-1-3-1, Bounty Hunter Novice, Carbine Special 0-0-0-1, Medic 1-0-0-0


I used the post-CU template tool to work out how much skill points it would take to go Master Commando and Master Bounty Hunter.


Great i thought, i only need a few more skill points to acheive that goal as i have just over 200.


Now people are telling me all those points in 3 trees of Master Marksman, Carbines and Medics are off absolutely no use in Commando or Bounty Hunter.


So as it stand for me to get those 2 profs i am looking at dumping a huge amount of effort and time.


Given Master Marksman was a pre-requisite for Commando I feel a little cheated that those Skill Points i had to grind are no longer relevant.


Now I maybe barking up the wrong tree so i would be happy to be told i am wrong.

I really hope they clarify this soon, I have had a finished template for who knows how long and am not going to regrind a template. If I have to grind a single xp after having spent 249 skill points on my live template and then grind to test... and then grind again to fix my template after they change it... I will cancel. I enjoy the game, but do not enjoy grinding. I put that past me a while ago. If not I would still be flashing around a glowstick killing creatures as fast as they spawn watching reruns on tv out of boredom.


In other words it is not our fault that they forced us to master a novice profession to become a commando in the first place and then changed it to less, and now they aren't wanting to give credit for that? I understand why... because on live (at current), any new player could walk into the game and just spend afew hours to master marksman, medic, and brawler to be left with only 19 sp giving them that much skillpoints spent into a respec class in order to master elite profs. I understand why, but when my toon is built, he is built and I shouldn't have to regrind anything unless they added in a new prof with an expansion and I had the desire to become that prof. Hell, I already mastered all the combat profs back in the hologrind days... that was enough to keep me from wanting to grind let alone the principle (and yes I know the hologrind was self inflicted ) of now having to grind when you are at their "hidden" CL max for sp spent.

This just in...

Its still be worked out...the devs are aware of Hybrid conversion. The question is how much novice skills will be worth....regardless, they will be worth something.

Still uncertainity with it...but its not going to be a clean cut and restrictive as they seemed to have suggested on the HoC...

I don't know if ranger will be affected, or not with master scout, but can't they just wait Commando/BH (possibly Ranger as well) a little higher in the hybrid mastery/elite mastery boxes to offset the loss we would take on novice boxes. Doesn't seem like it should be too hard to seperate those 3 classes that required a master novice prof to master so that can still maintain their completed templates.


Just remeber Medic changing as well... this will also be a hinderance to docs and CM's with this route so it really is not a small portion of the community that is going to need to have something done.

I'm just gonna be pissed if I have to do any grinding for my template. MCommando/MBH/Pistoleer 0/0/4/0, and the Scout requirement for BH may not be respecable. If I have to grind that crap, I'm walking.

The answer is in your own characters files on your computer.


You should be allowed to regain ANY skill you ever learned during the respec.

I just worked some numbers out on the POST CUcharacter generator. I have come up with an intresting template here. This will be one of the hard ones to grind POST CU, but it looks fun.
