Thread: You know commandos as much as you complain about doing unarmed it could have been worse.
Hey there...nice to see you again in the Commando Forum...you're gonna make me visit the BH forum now...lol...
Your right...things were tougher from what I hear...but anyway you slice it, unarmed is a grind...before I became a commando I had almost mastered Brawler....of all the trees only 2 gave me trouble...Pikeman and Unarmed...hard to say which was worse, but both were nasty...
The sad thing is, for the average commando, once the master unarmed to get to Novice commando, they never revisitthat skill...which is one reason we'd like something added to the Commando profession to make unarmed worthwhile....

In beta we had turrets and machine-guns though, so it wasworth it.
Yea I forgot about those. I remember at first they were going to make it so you have high tech melee weapons, but that idea was thrown out the window.
I love the unarmed grind. While it was a lot harder than marksman, and really worth nothing until novice TK, it makes you feel like you should be something and not acheap elite master marksman.
I would hate to see it go as a pre-req. All that unarmed would then havee been for nothing, and that would destroy the since of acomplishment.
People propose exploration 4 or engineering 4 instead of it for various reasons, but I've had both and you could literally do either one in a day. Exploration you could have just easily have gotten while mastering marksman. Engineering was cake once I got a harvester.
Be a true commando at heart and just apreciate the fight to get to novice commando.
And yes garvin, polearm was just as hard as unarmed. Just befor deciding to go commando I was novice pikeman, novice rifleman, and had a couple boxes in weaponsmith with exploration 4. With the new mitigation system I would have been pretty tough, but I like being a commando, no doubt about it, the way it is with unarmed.
