I think this thread is the first new thread made today, It used to be moving at a pretty good speed, but then, everyone got tired of waiting for the combad docs. I think.

The problem isn't with our community...it's with the flow rate of news...Months back we at least had now content or combat changes to talk about...we also had things like the Summit coming up to discuss...But recently we are pretty much playing a waiting game on the Combat Revamp info to be released as well as hearing little tidbits about JTL mostly...

If I could freely discuss the Revamp info then I know we'd be seeing posts pretty much every few minutes at least...there would be excitement back in the community...

Personally, I'm hoping the new web site I'm making helps...I've spent a little over a week doing nothing else but working on this new site (haven't even gotten into the game except to grab a few extra screenshots to dissect)...and that means I haven't even been able to really get into [NDA BLOCKED ] like many others are currently enjoying....The new site will hopefully be useful, fun and help to pass the time. Think of it as a new outlet for our energy and frustrations...

I know if the Devs posted something, anything, that had any connection back to us we'd see some excitement here (good or bad), but currently I feel like I'm just sitting in the classroom watching the clock tick second by second.

So basically, what I'm over-stating is...I feel your pain...

*sigh*

Ive almost lost all hope for commando and am thinking of droping it for good this time and work on a good Template with some Jedi in it. Im not realy sure these days. Alot of new games are comming out next month. It's just over bearing to wait as long as we have.

If you see a game coming out that you want to try, I HIGHLY suggest doing so...it's always nice to take a break and try something new...when and if you return to SWG you'll find yourself feeling renewed...I've done that on occasion in the past (somethings even playing multiple MMOs at the same time) and some of my best ideas or suggested solutions came from things I saw in other games...I've also seen some of the bugs/issues in other MMOs that help me appreciate SWG that much more...

Take CoH for example (City of Heroes)...I play that one from time to time...It's a nice game in premise and the character customizability is incredible...I also like how all the missions are static...but after playing it awhile you soon come to see that it's just the same thing over and over...leveling becomes much more tedious in CoH then any other game I've played (and that includes SWG)...

I've also pre-ordered Matrix (fan of that movie as well)...I'm not in their Beta, but the game looks very interesting from what I've seen and read...I'm excited to check it out...

So if you need to, take a break and try something new...most of my friends who left SWG many months ago for other games have actually found their way back to SWG feeling renewed...And I know even more are waiting to come back with the Revamp and JTL...

Good point. Taking a break is necessary some times. Ok, does anyone want to share their experiences with any of the new games? I recently downloaded the Rome: Total War demo and I loved it. I'm thinking of buying it this weekend.

Here you go...There is some good info on their forum, but not convinced yet that their skills/profession base will be as robust as SWG or other MMOs I've seen out there...the shear size of the Matrix universe will be huge looks like as well as the fight scenes are cool (has the slick stop/go movie effects)...

The thing that has me most interested in the game is that it takes place after the 3rd movie (uneasy truce betweenman and machine)and the premise (including character dialog) has been carefully crafted by the original Matrix creators...

hmm sounds interesting garvin, but i dont plan on playing Matrix online. Ive played Fable recently, its single player I know but it was defenitely a good break. Similar to this in that u can buy house and shops, and get married etc. Great game, but it felt to short to me I dunno. Because of the two sides of alignment u can be on tho it has definite replayability at least once, plus if u focus more on one thing than everything that can add some replay as well, but not as much because it really is easy to just master everything. I think anyone that has an XBOX and likes to break from MMO sometimes should check it out, if just as a rental even, its pretty sweet.

Hmm yea breaks are good. I usually only play on the weekends. Still in all the little time I play I always feel... well... sad. I was amazed at this game when it first came out. I remember player cities being added or how about way back when you would take a mission and get sent to endless waypoints. I miss the old days when if the rebels attacked the Research Facility (Place with all the Dark Troopers) we would all rush over there in shuttle and then walk for about half an hour to get there and defeat them (Yes I'm an Imperial). The game has lost a lot of feel because where ever I go a house pops up. It's hard to find empty regions these days and the planets just lost all that mysterious feel.

It sure was fun when leaving a city actually meant going out into the wilds never knowing what might happen. I remember grouping just to defend ourselves from thugs in the streets cause we were all novice marksmen. However a lot of that feeling is gone. The bugs have just become a nuisance not to mention all the unbalance we have in combat. It seems all that is left is the power gamers or those few of us who are waiting for the game to improve. I have noticed huge decreases in players, some cities I have heard are completely empty somedays for a time.

Yea the Devs have added a lot of stuff and fixed quite a bit too. However ask yourself just how much of their content really works. Sadly I find that this game is dying or at least working on it. I have a shread of hope that I will have a game that immerses me in Star Wars and is fair and fun. I know, I know I'm being negative again, but how can I have hope when we were suppose to receive information on what was going to change (Revamp Docs) that hasn't come.
There is a terrible lack of communication and we all need some hope to keep us together. Honestly I can't trust the Developers. They seem to love setting false dates and what not just to keep us waiting. Think about it. Many people are just waiting for the Docs and the Devs have managed to get another month of money out of them.

The Devs need help in some way. They could probably use better management and more people so that don't have the excuse for "Oh we don't have the time to fix that". I feel that the game is slowly digging itself to a point where it just won't be enjoyable because of all the bugs. Garvin I want to believe you, but I can't. I'm concerned that too much emphasis was put on attack power and we won't have any defenses. The only way you could reassure me is by telling me that if I a Master Commando fights a TKM with both of us unbuffed that I would win or at least prove a challenge and not get KD in the first second. If that is true I'll stick around assuming the combat revamp comes out before christmas cause otherwise that is way too long.

Sorry to rant, but all this waiting is putting me on edge.

I have found WH40K and SW: Battlefront very theraputic.
I have found Garvinsperpetual hinting on those nuggets of information he is sitting on very frustrating (read my sig).

I have found the waxing and waning of the community almost as entertaining as the game itself.
