Thread: The CB/R and the NDA, after JTL

Now that we have gotten all the acronyms out of the way...LOL

With regards to the (hopefully) upcoming Sandbox tests after the release of JTL, are the lucky fellows that were picked for testing allowed to have a view of the famed Combat Balance Docs?

If so, were they allowed to see the CBD's as they pertain to the other profs, as a way to begin visualizing the changes that are to come?

If not, why not?

I am assuming that the guys that get picked for the Sandbox are under the same NDA that the correspondents are under...

The sandbox testers have not seen the docs as of yet...Nothing has been fully explained yet (by the devs)on how things will work exactly, but I get the strong feeling that the docs will be publically released before we even start the sandbox testing (at least some if not all of them)...If not, I'm more then positive that the Sandbox testers will have access to the docs because they will need the info contained within to actually do the testing...

And yes...those that have been picked for the Sandbox will be under NDA as well...Not because they want to keep the secrets secret, but because there may be certain elements that the Devs want to introduce to the general game play audience rather then us testers (pretty much the reason why I can't share what I know...because the Devs what to share it)...

One of the docs may be the "professions specifics" doc...this one basically spelled out some, not all, changes for various professions...including defensive changes, a few specials moving around...accuracy and speed changes...cert changes, etc...but the doc we saw was very incomplete...like I said before, the commando page was probably the most complete of all the pages...Since our testers will be testing different 250 point templates, they will need to know the pros and cons of all professions so I'm fairly certain they'll get to see this doc as we...

Does that answer your question (considering how well I can answer it with what I know)?

Ps...I've already got all our Sandbox testers on Instant Messager and have met with a few of them to talk about Sandbox Strategy...We are already building a "game plan"...

Honestly, its a little vague...LOL...But given the circumstances you are under, I suppose its understandable. That doesnt mean I like it, but ci est la vie

My main concern, as voiced before on numerous occasions, is the lack of test specimens (LOL) for the sandbox. The indication that I get from you is that once the sandbox opens its doors for business, that things will be moving at a breakneck speed. I worry that the 6 will not completely be able to test out the various 250 pt templates, in order to some degree, rule out:

First, gamebreakingtemplates...i.e. combat medics geeked up on havla spamming headshot pre-inoculation availability days, or combat medics in general...Also before they made defensive specials like dodge and counterattack weapon specific, a pistoleer completely maxed out on dodge was unhittable. Hell, I wasa rifleman that was maxed out on dodge...I could roll into AH overt against 30 rebels and none of them could hit me. I didnt even wear armor.

Second, bugs...I just feel that there is too few to allow the proper testing of templates to rule out bugs that will inherently be created by this revamp.

SOE needs to start operating under the 5 P's...
