Thread: Question about Commmando Trees/Launcher Pistol

Now, I don't believe that the Launcher Pistol gets any newspecials or increase in speed/accuracy within the Commando line, does it? In order to make it effective, you'd need either the BH or Pistoleer lines? Just curious, cause as a Master Rifleman/TK 4003/Commando 0140, I can't really effect NS Spellweavers/Protectors....my TK is more for defense and meditation than anything....


I'd need the Launcher Pistol for Blast damage. I have the feeling a rocket launcher would just get me killed quickly.....

The lack of mods and specials within the Commando trees for the Launcher Pistol is one of our top issues...it's true...we get no extra skill mods or specials for a weapon we get cert'd...


The craziest thing is that we are the ONLY profession to be cert'd a weapon that we don't improve on beyond our pre-reqs...


The good news is that this is covered in the Revamp...If the Revamp was already live I'd be answering this question in a completely different manner, so you may want to ask again down the road when they start releasing the Public Revamp Docs (whenever that may be)....

Just so frustrating. If there was a Launcher Pistol tree, I'd have gone up that rather than Flamethrower, since many more things are vuln to blast.


If you threw in a couple of BH or Pistoleer specials in there, it would be a nasty weapon in the Commando line.


My template would be the ultimate NS hunting template. Rifles for Elders and the other lower NSers, and the Launcher for Spell Weavers and Protectors....one can only wish!


But then again, I am sure this has been covered already....

ya the LP is just sad for us I wish we would have some specials and mods to make it usefull seing how it is blast damage

It would be nice to get at least two pistol specials for the LP, something like a blinding shot that inflicts blind and a stopping shot type attack where you can stop the enemy at their tracks to prevent them from getting into melee range. I'm a huge fan of the LP and it'll be a nice deal if the HAR tree would be ripped down and combined with LP/FT for a heavy weapons special tree and then a grenade crafting tree.

Would overcharge 2 or body shot 2 even be worth using against high level mobs? ie - Protectors and SpellWeavers?

overcharge 2 would just wreck your weapon i was grinding some combat xp to novice bh and my FWG5 went down 2 condition every shot using Overcharge 2, I switched to bodyshot 2 which worked . The best pistoleer specials atm are the BH specials, TorsoShot is nice for a fire Eyeshot is a nice mind hit so you can help out swords/rifles and bleeding shot i think is slightly more powerful than health shot 2. 75% of the pistol specials are borked multi target pistol shot is broken, point blank area 2 is broken, pistol melee defense 2 is broken the only specials i ever used as a Master Pistoleer were, stopping shot, fanshot, pistol melee defense 1 and bodyshot 3. Only ones i can rememeber the master specials are all broken.

I'd love a LP tree tho, +20 pistol speed minimum would be great, cap my pistol speed please ,
