Has anyone noticed that the acid rifle is absolutely rubbish? It does terrible damage, hasbad speed and accuracy and feeble specials. Or are all the dev's and enlightened commando's laughing at us? Is, in fact, the acid rifle the best weapon ever and we are all just doing something wrong? Unfortunately i think not...

Id like to think im wrong on this point so would anyone please tell me about their great (or rubbish) acid rifle experiences?

Uh...

We've known that the HAR is garbage for a year now...

Thing is, the devs don't care enough to fix the bloody thing. They fixed our accuracy with it, but that was all.

I don't see the HAR ever being worth anything. Hell, I only keep one as a symbol of my sad devotion to that ancient religion we call Commando.

Feh. Your right. I just noticed the HAR is total Crap.

Beam Rifle on the other hand...now that baby is UBER.

it wasnt really sarcasm or nething... i just wanted to know if there was summit i was doing wrong... I suppose the only time it's worth a use is wen ur target has high heat/no acid resistance. which is never.

Hehe, I don't exagerate when I say that a DX2 at novice pistoleer has better acid damage DPS than the HAR does... and it has AP1!

Only thing i use it for is with grp hunts where my other weapons lag my friends out.... heh... thats the only reason i see worth lvling in it...although... at novice when i used it, then the flamer.... they were pretty much the same.. i couldn't notice anything different bewteen them...

My HAR is good for only one thing... garbage disposal. About the only thing a HAR is good for is one-hitters on Scavenger Rat rubish piles that you happen along on your journeys. Anything beyond... well... you get the idea.

Well, I recently picked a HAR up, which works great at kissing distance, but also has accuracy bonuses (+12) out to 35m. So - its a little more flexible than my original HAR. Working great being defined as - actually fires at the target at least once before it incaps me.

Seriously though - I was glad to find this weapon to exploit the Acid Damage aspect of it- but I generally agree, that the HAR does too little damage, though even this could be offset were is given a much faster rate of fire/attack speed.

In addition - as the term "Rifle" Implies - the range of the weapon should concurrently be extended.

I don't have a problem with it retaining strong "to hit" bonuses at close range (but could live with sacrificing these)- but surely a faster firing HAR at range would be a welcome addition to the (realistic) Commando's Weapon Inventory which pretty much consists of ......a Flamethrower. His LagPistol, Shoulder Fired Heavy Weapons and Grenades from his grinding towards Master Daysare all surely part of a very impressive decorative display in his house now.

Yeah yeah - revamp..... I just hope they remember to breath some life into weapons like the HAR, and while they're at it - finally decide WHO is certified to use that silly Beam Rifle. I also won't complain if they grant Commando's certification for the Light Lightning Cannon (Since we already know how to use the Heavy one) - but thats meat for a different post.

Being able to use some rifle specials with the HAR would be nice......

it is a rifle after all.....
