No, they don't stick more often. The difference is that when you're attacking someone lying on the ground you're doing almost double the damage and hence your flame DOT is much larger. I know, typically, when I attack an NPC that knocked down I can do up to and including 18k of damage in one flamesingle2 with an FT with 1286 max damage.

Now, factor in the 75% damage reduction and what's leftover is the effect of the burn DOT each time it hits on a player, regardless of what type of armor they are wearing.

ive just decided everytime i do well I would share the experience to try and keep an enlightened and decent mood while we wait rather groggily for the seemingly non existant combat revamp docs. I figured id share the good moments, because we've undoubtedly seen the bad.

Also congrats to sudden_death always good to hear of commandos racking up the PvP points.

I just wanted to share a PvP experience I had yesterday that made enjoy still being a Commando.

My guild is in a war right now, so PvP is ever changing hardcore fights for us. Upon logging in I got killed by the other side who happened to come up to me as I stepped out of my house. (Oops I should've been paying attention i guess haha) Anyway, needless to say I had to have my revenge for this. So I went to Dant, got a guildie to buff me uber, got my mind all the way up, then me and another guildmate went to find these Rebels on their own turf.

Now as u see, of course I had back up, and unfortunately it was only 2 on 2. Me being MC and TKM I ran up to the one who slayed me and KD/Dizzied him first thing. Staying calm and not adding to much to my que I also made my FT the next in the que then flamcone 1 and 2 on him. He was a TKM/Nov rifleman with medic so he did heal himself, but the burns I got on him were hitting him hard, he had to focus on healing himself to much. Meanwhile my guild mate was fighting the other guy who was a MR and Doc to boot, and he supposedly gave him no trouble (which appeared to be true).

However, I didnt pay enuff attention to my mind as I continued to knockdown my opponent and burn him in this fashion and suddenly i realized my mind was almost gone. It seems when my guildie would come over to support me if I got KDd the other Rifleman would shoot my mind and it ended up being my downfall. I tried to run and gather myself, but unfortunately it was too late. I had not paid enuff attention and it was my downfall, after 10 min of Battle with the Reb I was taken down by the riflemen shooting me from behind.

To clarify, yes I died. My friend (who is TK/Swordsman with some medic i believe) was able to handle himself til i returned unfbuffed, and I burned the last man standing til he was ash. It was indeed a tough fight for me, and once again im still no PvP master (Im still figuring out my MC tactics), but as hard as I was hitting the TK everytime was giving me a severe boost in morale for Commando. Anyway we ended up defeating them and I felt invigorated that i was a commando once again. My own sadness is I didnt find the chance to take screenshots of this battle, it really was alot of fun.

Anyway I just wanted say, yeah I know we r bugged, and it hurts to lose one on one, but this battle (among others Ive taken part in) proves to me without a doubt that Commando is still a worthy adversary at PvP.

Now I know the argument, the person I was fighting was "not a great PvPer obviously" or even some may say he was. I say he was, he took advantage of the situation and caught me off guard which to me is a great strategy in itself.

You may also say that this was 2 on 2 not 1 on 1. I tend to enjoy 2 on 2s or more because i enjoy the big drawn out battles thats all out chaos. Theres no real strategy to me in 1 on 1. All that is really is who has the 90% stun armor and mind foods and buffs foods including doc buffs, and dancer buffs, to make the greatest killer. If u really have to do all this to win, Im sorry u r sad. Id rather strategize my fight. (which ill say again Im still perfecting my strategy)

Anyway, flame and rant at me if u will, but to me this battle was a victory. Its completely true (i left out a few details including the rifleman being next to his clone center at all time so all he had to do was buff himself and come back outside, but thats a side note I dont its really an importantfact) and the fact that I lasted so long proves to me, that even at this time I am still effective as an MC in the battles I enjoy.

All I really wanna say is dont give up hope, Death is a Great adventure haha

As my Father used to tell me when i was a kid, "Cant win all the time, so pick and choose yer battles"

My ramblings r now complete
