Back in the dark days of the commando profession before the Great Commando Love Patch I picked up bounty hunter besides commando. Gave me some effective skills on the launcher pistol and was fun. My original plan was (now that we're a working class) to drop BH, finish mastering commando (halfway there) and build up about one half of CH to have a tank.

Now, though, I'm wondering. The flamethrower is great, but the HAR is still nothing worth getting, grenades are still marginal, and the gouging costs on my server for expendable heavy weapons makes them a royal pain as well.

So I'm considering an alternate build. Keep flamethrower IV, keep LLC IV (much better then the HAR, frankly) and get ranger and build wayfaring IV for the conceal kits.

What do folks think? Master commando with a decent tank pet, or the big damage lines of commando and BH combined with the sneak vs critters and NPCs abilities of scout and ranger?

The bh/commando hybrid would be a good PvP build (so right about the HAR vs LLC, and I think the LLC beats the FT from combat logs comparing the 2), whereas the ranger/commando would be a fun and effective PvE build. Depends on how you like to play (really like the ranger/cammo kit idea...cool build).

Thanks Krillian. I'm leaning towards the flamethrower IV/LLC IV/ranger wayfarer IV build myself. I keep trying to get enthusiastic about the other commando lines besides flamethrower without much luck. The expendables line is cool, but not on a server where a 28 charge HPC runs 50k.
