I've read down the first page and I have seen quite a bit of complaining. I have been wanting to become a commando for quite some time now. Since I had gotten this game. Now I am real close to it I hear that it's weak. I was looking for a fun good job to play. I am pretty close to becomming a Novice Commando.

I hear that is is weak.

I was going to be a Master Commando / TKM / Medic First Aid I

Should I finish mastering marksman, and surrender it and pick up another job such as finishing brawler or medic. Maybe even Artisan?

I can't speak for anybody but myself, but I have had a great time being a Master Commando. To be honest, my pvp skills suck beyond all suckdom. I can't hit jack in pvp, but when i do it does some serious damage. I don't use the acid rifle. It is pretty worthless in my opinion. Grenades can't even kill Sevorrts. The heavy weapons are very cool. Nothing compares to the flamer though. Launcher pistol isn't bad. So I guess in pvp commando is weak. In pve it kicks booty. In my opinion anyhoo...

In PvP we suck.
In PvE we do decent... but not half as well as... well... at least 5 other professions.

That said, Commando is the most fun I've had in this game... it's purely beautiful to flame things, and so much fun. I couldn't afford to buy all the heavy weapons and crap though, so I made a master swordsman + stacked defenses alt to make cash... It's crazy... I can make a billion times more cash with my swordsman, and I'm even better with him in PvP... but it's all for support. I always return to my commando. Besides community... commando potential is all that's keeping 3 accnts in the game.

Hope that helps... I'd recommend you try it yourself though. It's a personal preference thing I believe... you can't want to be powerful... even remotely. You gotta be satisfied with being twice as bad at everything in the game as anyone else. If you're cool with that, and you like orange/yellow - commando is RIGHT up your alley. Not to mention the commando community, in my humbly biased opinion, is one of the tightest knit, coolest communities. Perhaps we are united in our suckines... and our hope for the unfulfilled potential this profession holds.

So, *open nutshell* try it yourself. But don't say we didn't warn ya it's addicting, but weak. *close nutshell*

Are you playing commando in the future? When Combat revamp has come?

Or maybe you've never heard of buffs and a full suit of Composite armor. Seeing as Master Commando doesent add Flame speed, just some accuracy. In unbuffed fights yeah, we can take things down, but when I use a flamer against a fully buffed fully armored guy, I do like 200-400 and the burn DoT barely scratches someone whos buffed.

"Ummmm.... I don't really know what all of these other guys are talking about... maybe these guys aren't masters of commando or something. As a master commando you can be very devastating, I mean VERY devastating. You wouldn't ever want to ride into battle with just master commando under your belt, but even then you will get a few kills. One hit and your opponent is taking at least 1.5k damage plus having to deal with an annoying flame dot that leaves your body burnt to hell. Not only will your enemy have to sit in the med center for quite some time... he also won't want to do it again. Just get yourself 5 very nice krayt tissues and have a good weaponsmith throw a flamer together, decent speed and master... you'll be firing FS2 every 1.5 seconds, and you'll make some pain. I'm not Master commando for the pvp portion of it anyway, I just love blowing stuff up."

yeah he's not a commando.

PVP? we're not that great.

PVE? we're pretty good.
