Oh, yeah... "Kill stuff, kill lots of stuff" is a REAL helpful post.
How about, next time, you read the post you refer people to? There are some helpful suggestions in it, but that's not one of them.
Here's how I'm going about mastering Commando:
From Master BH, I had a considerable amount of combat xp and heavy weapons xp. I was able to start as a 3-0-1-0 Commando (would have started at 3-0-3-0 except I used the LLC after dropping some levels of it and lost a lot to the cap). Anyhow, I got a buff, some good kinetic ubese and a launcher pistol, got in a solo group on Dantooine and hunted quenker lairs. Sure the money sucks (I could be making a lot more hunting Janta or Mokks with my Geno) but the number of creatures that spawn from one lair is pretty high (I'm told it depends on the size of the group). Personally, I kite the lot of them and kill them all with Fan Shot, but your tactics may vary depending on your prior skills. At any rate, you can get about 60k xp per mission off of those. I got Flamethrower 2 and 3 in about 3 hours at a casual pace.
Once you get Flamethrower 4, you may find that this weapon will be more effective than the launcher in many circumstances (it may be more accurate and faster than the launcher if you do not have BH or Pistoleer skills). I've refrained from it thus far since I am concerned that burn damage may not count for xp in much the same way that bleeds steal xp...
At any rate, it's not a hard prof to master and if you use your existing skills to complement your new commando tech, you'll finish it quickly.

I have to agree with the "kill lots of stuff" thing. That post is old and outdated and should either be removed or revamped as it has minimal information.
I am lookin to master commando as fast as possible as well....this is not for hologrinding but just another different server alt to have.
With that in mind I assume you are hologrinding and thus have money in the bank.
Here is what I suggest. Buy some good kinetic armor. Get your stats ID maxed for mind. Get doctor buffed and ENT buffed. Group with a droid/pet as they give a bit more experience (i think they still do this, correct if wrong). Get novice medic and a supply of good Stim Bs.
Then get a sliced and puped luncher pistol and plow your way up the flame line, then get a sliced and puped flame thrower.
Then you can go basically anywhere. If you want to go where other people are go to the Squill Cave or Tusken Camp and just grind away. Maybe try dath (are rancors heat vulnerable?) or dantooine and quenker your way up.
I would AE my way tho....you just need to find a bunch of tough moneters grouped close together or a massive amount of medium monsters that spawn fast (squills)
Anyway, my plan is go get CH and get a good pet to tank then plow my way through the commando line and drop CH as I go up. I dunno about grenades as of yet.
Anyway, it seems like it is going to be a long grind like rifleman was..should be fun tho

Hurton Stalkers my friend xp out the can! Flamer becomes more effective at 3 but dot damage doesn't count toward xp I don't think also leave the droid in town in your group No need worrying about him and you still get the bonus thats how I did it. Just dont forget to recharge that droid every once in awhile.

-Kindrick- For all the people that are lost to this game for bugs twice as many leave because of a population of people like you. Not our fault you didn't get enough hugs growing up. If you are only going to be an @ss than don't talk at all!
