I'm a Master Smuggler andalmost a Master Pistoleer. I've been contemplating getting to Novice Commando for the Launcher Pistol Cert. and if I do that I would have 12 skill points left to spend. So I could get 3 boxes up one of the Commando Trees, if you were me what would you choose? I was thinking Flame Thrower. If I go Heavy Weapons, can I use any of those specials with the Launcher Pistol?

You are a master smuggler, and pistoeler, the launcher alone will help. I would say ask yoruself if you will assisting in base shutdowns, if so, take heavy weaponsso you can fulfill two roles in shutting down bases.

If you aren't worrying about that then the flame tree is very nice with the fire dot on top of your health shots.

Although, I do like the acid damage on the HAR, too bad it is inferior in damage to the FT, it really should have at least medium armor peircing (carbines and rifles and pistoleers and BH all have acid damage with at least AP1).

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure how I feel about base takedowns, I've only been involved with one and I wasn't even a Master Smuggler yet. The Flame Thrower just looks cool, plus the fire burns. You guys probably get it all the time, but the first time I saw one I was on Corellia at night and on the other side of a hill from a Commando who was laying waste to a bunch of Rebels(I think that's what it was). It looked so awesome glowing orange in the night.

you don't need master smuggler to be vauluble on base takedowns, all you need is slicing 1. and yes it is so awsome to see stormies dying in the night. You MEANT STORMIES DYING RIGHT? /readyflamethrower

Yeah I know, I had all of slicing and half of the DF tree to add to my weak Pistol Line from Marksmanship and the unarmed line from Brawler. I did what any devious Smuggler would do, I hid in a corner and hope no one would notice me. It was fun but I think the Poor Doc had to Rez me 3 times.

As far as Rebs/Imps I go were the money's at

Oops, there aren't any HW specials they're just skill mods.

You are correct in thinking the flame tree.

HAR is an impotentFT clone, Heavy Support Weapons are expensive and hard to find, Grenades are the same but less effective, and we have no LP mods or specials. So, the FT is currently the best choice to pursue.

Having Smugglers Feign Death, our fire DOT can still be effective, yet more time taking then before. Try it out!

I would use

/healthshot1

/healthshot2

between the /intimidate1 and the /warcry before going to flamer . . . but I haven't used /flushing shot yet.

Flushingshot2 is a rifleman special its a 4x random ham attack that is aoe and stuns, thus lowering there defenses, so you can hit the bastach more consistantly

Good point. I'm thinking /lastditch now. I've got to go grind the rest of Marksman, so I can try this out.
