Thread: Heavy Weapons xp capping at 5k??!!! or is it just me? hehe

Yeap... my heavy weapon exp seems to be capping at 5k at the moment... altho i've been on lok mostly and killing mercenerys and such... but after reading about the combat xp being nerfed... i took notice of how much xp i was getting (i didn't care for a good while as it's been a while since i unlocked)... having being a commando for a long time... and seening all these new 4xxx commandos... first thing that came to mind is "this will make it even easyer to grind to commando, and the fs itself)... i think by doing this without telling anyone, sony may have shot themselves in the foot... they may have been trying to slow people down.. but this will speed things up.
UNLESS 
i'm bugged and i only seem to get more than 3k heavy weapons??

The only reason why your combat exp might be capped is if you only have commando, which isn't suggested for most

Yes but what about 5k heavy weapons? well atleast more then 3k... most i got from kill in the last two days is 48xx points from a kill (heavy weapon xp) and i only used the one flamer!!

Were you getting higher amounts before?
Also, keep this in mind... that fire DoT you're sticking on the critters acts like any other bleed... i.e. you don't get XP oryou get very reducedXPfor the bleed damage. :-)
If you're still levelling up, stick with Flame Single 1 primarily. The DOT is less, even if the damage the special does is less.
I rarely had over 5k xp per kill even at master, unless I was taking on something with a *lot* of HAM. Or unless I switched to the Acid Rifle for most of my damage.

First off just in case some dont know, we were capped at 3k XP max on anything we kill with special heavy weapons and the other weapons we got. No matter what, even if u dont use the DOT, me and a few other commandos tested it awhile back. Now even tho, this was awhile ago and alot of changes r being made, so I dunno if they fixed it or not.
Anyway to get to the point of the post if yer getting a 5k cap now awesome, thats a plus IMO.

OK to clear things up.. i've been a master commando for over 8 months now (commando for over 9) and i've never b4 had over 3k of heavy weapons xp from ANYTHING... at any lvl of being a commando. The 5k cap was something commandos have been pushing for, for a long time now. Garvin has talked about it often, and says he reminds devs often too. But... noone else is telling me they are getting more than 3k in heavy weapons (with dot or without) and i do get more than 3k even when using DOTs.
SOOOO am I bugged.. or this this a silent fix to go along with the silent nerf of the combat xp?

The combat exp is not nerfed.....and about hte heavy wep exp....maybe you are bugged...cuz im not getting anything higher than 3k

I seem to remember geting 4k HW xp once, but I'm not sure how. I think I was grouped and did most of the damage or something like that.

OK guys update it's gona bck to 3k 
but for over a week there i was getting 4k+ xp hehe I guess i was bugged... or i opened my mouth just at the moment the devs made there oncea year check of the forums and nerfed me lol
