On average, is there any advantages to using Heavy acid guns over a flamer?

unless the target has very high heat resists and ap1 or higher. Even then you would probably do more damage using the fire dots of the flamethrower than using a HAR

yea, becuase of the dots, I can wear away Mob's with 100% heat resist with only a flamethrower.

By the way, I'm a Master commando, and I have never owned a heavy Acid rifle.

Off hand I cant think of a single MOB I would choose an Acid Rifle over a Flame Thrower on and that includes the MOB's with 100% Heat resist.

I only use mine group hunting when I'm havesting and such, and don't want aggro.
But really only in a larger group where the DPS of the whole group (even with my slow HAR) will take down the mob fairly quickly.

voritors, rancors and other critters are vuln to acid so you could use the har on them...
I have an uber HAR, but sadly enough it's still useless
It's called "Bad Breath" 3s 357-833 accuracy at 72 still doesn't hit for over 300 damage with single2
