Thread: ok we got special, now can we get something done about either more damage or lower the timers
Ok so what if I'm not a Marine. No offense.
Look not much point to be a Commando if the Fire you lay as Support is worse then everyone's else. I don't think in real life we wait 10 seconds to shoot. This is a game. It's not like you are stuck the way you are, but things still need to be balanced. This isn't balanced. This is suppose to be a fair game, well suppose to be, real life is not fair. There is no over coming in such a game. Sure you can put up with it, but you'll just be worse then everyone else. Also all Templates are to be able to play Solo. That's why we got these Specials really, thought they may be useful in Group Warfare somewhat. Commando is Support in the sense that you lay down a lot of Heavy Fiepower like a Machine Gun. However there's no such thing as Covering Fire in this game or too many others. So the idea of Shooting everywhere really doesn't work and plus we use Blaster Bolts and the Splash Effects from our Heavy Weapons like the Flamethrower instead to provide this Support. Commando Provides Support through Heavy Firpower that can also be Spread over an area thus our AOE and the use with effects like KD in them.
These Specials aren't working they need to be fixed. Until then we can put up with it or adapt as you say. Also it's not very much like a Commando not to be able to kill someone on his own. Actually that makes zero sense. There are no Marines in Star Wars. Not in the sense of we think of. Yes Stormtroopers are similair in that you see them both in the Army and Navy of the Empire. But they are the Frontline Soldiers, the Grunts, and the cannon Fodder as they always use Numbers to win most of the time unless were talking about Special Groups. There are Rebel Spec Force Marines.
Marines
SpecForce marines were trained for combat onboard starships, either to repel invaders or to board ships. They were skilled in zero-gee combat, space survival, and space-suit operation. They were typically armed with blaster pistols, vibroblades, rifles and grenades. Marines also had access to the few battle-rated space suits available in the Alliance.
But we also match this...
Heavy Weapons Specialist
SpecForce heavy weapons specialists provided protection against enemy air and ground vehicles, and gave their units the extra punch needed to crack through a tough position. Heavy weapons specialists also received training in starship gunnery. They were quite well trained, though their casualty rates were high. This is because in a battle once an artillery piece's location has been revealed, enemy effort to disable or destroy it becomes paramount. SpecForce heavy weapons specialists were trained to die rather than abandon their guns.
And here's Storm Commandos...
While standard stormtrooper operations are broad in scope, storm commandos are specifically trained for anti-Rebel operations, siege-breaking, extractions and sabotage. A unit of storm commandos can range from four to 40 troopers. Typically, one quarter of these are standard commandos, while a second quarter is an assault team trained for vehicle combat and artillery. Another quarter are experts at sabotage, demolitions and stealth, while the last quarter is tech team devoted to keeping gear functioning or jury-rigging makeshift supplies.
The black storm commando armor is based on the lightweight armor of the stormtrooper scout, but is coated with an advanced polymer called reflec which bends light and sensor energy away from the trooper.
You see we are meant to be a mixture of all those things. So I see Commando as...
1. Someone who focuses on Heavy Damage through Heavy Weapons, useful against Tough Targets.
2. Someone able to use any Weapon, even their own fists so they are always a threat.
3. Someone who specializes in Damage over an Area with Heavy Weapons to provide Support for main attacking forces.
