Thread: Well thinking of coming back to the Brotherhood

I was a long time Master Commando pre-cu. Die hard commado and part of the commando guild during CU-Beta. When CU went live I was still Commando, but somewhere during all the respecs I became other things. Even after respecs I group out numerous proffesions. I finally settled into TKM, MSwords, Pike 3440. This was great for getting XP and killing things. But last night I felt the calling, the calling to be who I am. I ama Rebel Commando. Pure melee is not me, I am a Soldier, not a barbarian. Now I understand that the new specials are not great but they are there, more powerful then ranged shot as far as I am concerned. So I am planning on going MCommando, TKM, swords 0044. This will allow me to shoot them from far with a proton, and soon to be released Lava as the get closer, to finally punching them in the mouth when they get next to me.


I am just wondering how many other TKM MCommando there are and what they think of them. I am still a melee guy because I like to get up close and personal but I just don't feel right with melee weapons in a SW game. I am relying on Swords 0044 for defenses and power moves, TKM for more defenses and the fact that I will actually be able to dress like a Rebel Commando. I plan to stick to blaster fists when in melee range. I want the commado weapons for when they are out of reach. Plasma is a nice little tool for when they are outside of 5m.

Basicly, My opinion is that you should have fun. Just go whatever template, and have fun with it.

If you're planning to PVP, and don't like dying because it's not fun, then obviously you probobly don't want to build a "for fun aka Joke" template, You'll want a PVP template.

Commando is the **edit** step-child of the ranged professions. not to mention the 29 wasted skill points it takes to acquire....


Commando alone, gets no damaging specials higher than overcharged shot(marksman skill) and now every weapons has an AOE...meaning, now u agro everything that's not the groups main target, and have to chose either the ability to heal, or have a decent damaging special....


I loved playing Commando...but since the CU, there is really NO reason to play the profession other than to light things on fire...Rifleman and Carbineer have better damage and specials, and pistols have better SAC/specials....plus the skill point requirements allow them the ability to pick up some kind of healing....


Commando needs some serious lookin at....i really can't believe the state in which Commando is in right now!!!

I am pretty much done with PvP. If I wanted to continue to PvP I would keep my existing profession. Main reason I am looking at commando is I want to keep TKM and SP cost it is either commando or smuggler. I plan to use mostly TKM but I wanted a fun ranged proffession to play and my first love is commando. I love the weapons and the persona just matches my playing style. I am always grouped with a MSL and MCM, and a rifleman that has 350 accuracy and trando rilfe that is damaged capped. So no matter what I will not be the on taking aggro, I will just be a support person.
