Not to mention depending on the enemy I can virtually die before I can toss another grenade...it is like I stand there watching the pretty explosion while my target chews me up.

Also remember, this has been something of a big issue for well over a week or two now when the NDA lifted, it's not some huge let-down surprise honestly. The last response by Helios was on the 8th saying that he was looking into ways to improve them/implement our feedback (which we gave for a week or so prior, of how bad the specials were).

Nothing changed from their first incarnation on TC2 to now unfortunately...we're still waiting tho.

I dunno, I was thrilled to have any kind of specials at all. yea, the timers are slow, do you know why? Because Commando is designed as a heavy SUPPORT profession intended to back up other fighters, not stand on his own. This is completely contrary to the concept of a Commando and closer to that of a Marine as a point of fact, but that's what they think it is, so that what it is, and that's why everythign is designed around fire support, and not speed.

Very true, but it's also highly illogical that the damage output can be rivaled by specials that are non-warm up (hence faster and more damage) and aren't even from support professions. Having specials that are so severely out of touch with what's already out there, makes for a very cruddy support profession, as why bother if it'll only bring you down...rather than prop you up?

It makes sense for these specials to be long timers, but VERY damaging...not two negatives.

Someone actually saw my bug report, yay.

I kinda frowned a little when I saw the thread title, though...StarNick is great and is definitely NOT the source of this misguided attempt at our specials.

I have faith they'll be adjusted to reasonable levels, but I think the discrepancy between different types of Commandos and the devs over what reasonable should be is part of the improper implementation.

Personally, I feel the timers could remain but the damage should be IMMENSE. I'm talking at the very least 7000 for Overkill Shot. That would work better for the players who envision Commando as the ultimate in slow, devastatingly damaging combat.

Or the timers could go, and we could have the same generically damaging specials as all other Professions. I'd prefer a different option than this...I have a whole bunch of other professions to borrow specials from if I'd like. No sense in making just another clone with different names.

And the devs...I wish I knew what they envisioned for us. It would make it a lot easier for our expectations in the future.

Anyway, it'll get fixed eventually. I just hope that it's sooner rather than later.

It was to grab their attention not blame Starnick...

Other than Aruboron (retired) on the GCW forums Starnick is the best corr. out there. period. Ackence (sp) for my rifle forums runs a close second.
