Hmmm....

I don't think the program you're using is completely accurate when it comes to calculating the mods....

The suggested template:

Master Commando
4000 Fencer
0004 Teras Kasi
0004 Pistoleer

Results as posted in the link:

173 melee defense...
136 ranged defense...

My build:

Master Commando
4000 Fencer
0004 Teras Kasi
0104 Rifleman

Results:

203 melee defense
171 ranged defense

0004 Pistoleer & 0104 Rifleman differ only by 10 points of ranged defense....

As for whether or not it would work out well?

/evilgrin

You could say that...

how about instead of 0104 rifle you use 0014 pistol...ranged mitigation and you get the slight boost to a launcher pistol

Not to stir the pot, but are these legal? I've heard of people being suspended at least for "untouchable" templates?

I'm not asking to be a dink...I'd like to know cuz I'd like to try it!

well...if its possible to do without the use of an exploit...I would say its perfectly legal to do...and these can be done simply by working the required paths and getting them trained

Hey, it's perfectly legal to do. You're supposed to be able to learn whatever from any profession so long as you have the skill points. However, in one of TH's posts I just read he said defense mod stacking was going to be removed to do some unfair advantages players got or something of the sort. I'll find it again and post the quote.

*******************************************************
Explorer 80% - Socializer 53% - Killer 40% - Achiever 26%
Player type

Raanan Soulfire - Bloodfin MSmuggler/MCommando
Breytei E'kre - Starsider Commando/Bounty Hunter

umm, never mind. I'm full of **edit**. TH said nothing of the sort. I misconstrued what he wrote and that rabble I posted was the result. My apologies.

I think what they are referring to when they say they are going to fix stacking special defenses (block, counter attack, and dodge). They were planning on having them only be active when you have the weapon they come with enabled. In other words, right now if you stack pistoleer and fencer, you basically will never be hit because your dodge is +185. I think the proposed change would make it so when you have a one-handed weapon selected, you'd have +105, and when you pull your pistol out, you'd have +80 (their respecive block amounts).

However, they said stacking melee and ranged defense is perfectly legal and won't be changed.

I was curious where you saw that the devs said that Melee and Ranged defense would still be stackable.
