Nothing wil be stronger than us to each put in some words in our in concept that match. Maybe we cant agree on everything but the things we do we should preserve. I will start with what I've been working on that started on a previous thread. keep in mind I am really trying to be far to other professions as we must to be listened to.
AS I said in the other thread, where I now have thought more about this, for here I will look at our pre-reqs by what they mean to their elites and what they should mean to us. This is my starter so pick out anything you dont like and tell me and we can talk about what to change. I will never claim to be auniputa... ehem, all knowing. No more preaching, I'll keep this as short and to the point as possible, here goes...
Pistoleer: Speed and accuracy along with HAM specific damage, short range but not limited to that. Multiple damge types.
Commando: We should have a sacrifice of not getting the speed and instead, have more damage for the initial hit, non HAM specific.LP is our pistol, it should work for us in this respect. If we go head to head with a pistoleer and use this, the pistoleer should win through speed. (we will have more verstility so no I am not saying we are weaker just on this ground which is fair)
Carbineer: medium speed, medium range, area effect status change, fire on the move, HAM specific damage.
Commando: We should direct this at our flamethrower. We trade speed, status change, firing on the move, and some range for our powerful initial hit and DoT, limited to 16m. If we fight a carbineer with just this weapon they would win due to being capable of longer than 16m along with firing on the move and more speed. ( Again versatility is what shoud be our strength since we have a multitude of combat pre-reqs)
Rifleman: Most accurate, longest range, multiple damge types, status effect specials, and AP weapons with area specific damage.
Commando: This is where I think the HAR or a return apearance of our beam rifle should be. We give up area specific damage, some accuracy, and several damage types and HAM specific damage. We should have the range here and AP along with again focusing on frontloaded damage. If we sit at 64m in a sniping fight with a rifleman, accuracy and speed combined should beat us.
TKA: self healing, self buffing, high melee/ranged defense, great damage per second, HAM specific damage with a choice of HAM to target, status efect defense, defensive accuity.
Commando: Not looking for melee atacks here because it would be pointless since we should never match a brawler in fighting. Instead, we need some defenses from this line. They should keep all their special abilities, we just need30 melee/ranged defenses, status effect defense, and instead of unarmed toughness, commando toughness unique to us as hardened soldiers, reduces wound and BF taken.
no elite: Ranged support has no elite.
Commandos: This is where we get our special skill that everyones so for it seems. Our HWs and grenades should take out large targets. AT-STs, bases, turrets, and coming battle droids and AT-ATs. In order to do this we need to make these weapons more powerfull by like 3 times the current value and AP3, HOWEVER, They should never, and I mean never, be capable of hitting a creature type/humanoid enemy, only machinery/structures. the only way I can see em doing this is by making sure all the mentioned targets have high HAM so it stays just our capability to destroy em, but make those big things very easy to hit to where the target themselves gives us a plus 120 to hit, but with no skill accuracy for us to use em. With it like that, no one else should even get the option of using them either with exception to C 12s as they are now.
In summary, I take all our pre-reqs and use them for versatility focusing on big damge frontloaded for the heavy machinery to where each individual skill we have does not match our elite counterparts but does not make us totally worthless in a fight since we have versatility. To me this is fair since any power we would have would be through our own tacics in PvP, emphasizing our strength/unique ability in big machinery/structures.
Let me know what you all think. This doesnt even have to resemble my origianl here if we all decide to change here and there, but once we gget done I would like to have other professions look at it and let us know if the see any mis-balance.
I do want any mis-balance they may see to be reasonable and not just be someone causing trouble just in spite so maybe LordS could just get the correspondants involved.
