Thread: AR3 for the Flame Thrower

I am a master commando.

When I go into battle I wear full armor.

I can withstand 3 DOT's by a flamethrower, I have screenshots from 5 battles to prove it. all 5 times I was UNBUFFED... just a pixie after the first hit..

The only thing that works is the FT... tried all the rest... ok for playing with Grenades and the HAR in pve, if u use them in pvp u will die quickly.

RL's and PB's are useable... but u have to double aim and be kneeled and 50m out.... and still expect them to miss half the time. At 5k a rocket... it will take alot of missions to keep yerself supplied... and that is if u can find them.

Since armor stops so much on the FT, can we please have it at AR3?

If this cannot be done, we will be basically stuck with just Heavy Weapons...

Can we have new schematics for them then... ones that do not deplete in a number of shots?

See the problem has never been the DOT... only to the naked and the zergs with bad armor and stand long enough to let u stack 3 DOT's on them, and to the ST's... for the rest with armor and buffs u can usually down your target before he can take advantage of it.

at master with a FT I get 110 accuracy... at 16m to burn... only 2 specials...

Can we up the one DOT? as it stands now... if u are a master u will either rely on your secondary, or flee after the one DOT.... no use in keeping it out after since it will be useless after the 1 hit... unless u are just the heat man in the group... but without staus def... any melee that gets in will, dizzy u... and u cannot kneel in a dizzy to use HW's, even if u do fall back and make it.

Imperial Detonators are a joke. How many grenades do u see in pvp battles? There is a reason... they are good at 10m and u have to double aim them and have your target stationary and u yourself be stationary. It does not make for a good tactic... and if u do manage to hit... they will pull about 100pts of a random bar on your opponent, If he is in 40% comp.

Only thing I can think of is AR3 on the FT or make Heavy weapons non depleting..... OR take and make the HAR AR2 and have an acid DOT.... at least then we could macro hot swap and stack the DOT's from both weapons.... going up against 85% compo that is 85 in both acid and heat would not be a big deal... as it stands, in compo that is 85% heat... I can take 3 hits by a FT NOW.

Flamethrower AR3?

How exactly is a flamethrower armor piercing?

Heavy rifles are armor piercing!

If they wanted to make the flame DOT somewhat realistic in a way they could make it so that it lowers the targets heat resist percentage the longer it lasts. Like each tick would take it down 5% or something. Not a permanent change, only while the DOT is on them. Would make sense in a way.

They should put the AP on the acid rifle, kind of like the acid wears through the armor or something like that. What I'm getting at is that the acid rifle needs some sort of use, does anyone actually use that thing. The flamer is used by pretty much everyone, because of the dot, the acid rifle needs some sort of strong point other than being something other than a different type of dammage.

AP on the HAR would be the easiest way to make it a valid weapon IMO... that and upping the range on the specials, since it is a rifle.

Flamethrowers Spew napalm. Napalm burns at INTENSELY highj temperatures. Its basically in lamens terms a lava gun. you think 4 inches of metal is ognna save you from lava?

Ok I know its not lava, but tahts the best way I can think to describe it.Thats just my opinion...I may be wrong.

I can see your point. Im not overly intelligent myself. hehe though this is how I now think of a justifiable AP3 rating

Composite armor=Metal

Frying pan=metal

Stove burns at like what 100-200 degrees and can/will fry human flesh right?

Imagine what, the 2000 degrees of napalm? hehe...insta fry...

doesnt make sense I know, but neither do all these nerfs on commandoes....

If you were wearing metal armor, and got sticky liquid fire on you... it would be the equivelent of jumping into an oven... a very large and broiling oven.... it may not kill you instantly... but **edit** your dead dude.

lol composite armor is not made entierly of metalrather fiferent kinds of layers like theplateing on armor. prob some kind of ceramic or silicate layer the ont lead heath at all (this would of course be most valid for heath layred armor). and other layers that would stop different kinds of attacks. In my opinion FT works exactly as it shouldgiving constant damage as the napalm (or whatever they use in SWG ft?)burns on the outside of the armor heating it more and more as i burns, with enough time u will eventually eat trough anything. Most unarmored characters get instantly killed wich is also very very realistic.

Fix the HAR alright, and give the nads a bit more use.

Actually Lava isnt all that hot, stick a half inch thick steel rod into it and all that happens is it glows hot. Napalm is actually a great deal hotter then lava, its not molten rock (which cools down rather quickly) its liquid fire. But the heat radiates towards the cooler areas, and the air around the armor is cooler then the armor itself. So while you had a good point, its still more realistic that flamethrower isn't AP anything. Besides the nerf cries that would raise would be impossible to quell on the moon If they mad the HAR diffrent from the flamethrower in terms of specials and such, then by all means make it AP and ranged. I'd rather have something other then a flamethrower twin anyway.
