"Also the new armor resists for the DOTs will help prevent people from soloing mobs with the DOTs, and although I'm sure rebels will scream their heads off loseing yet another way of downing AT STs, it will still help PvP a great deal."

At present, Flame DoT is practically the only way to solo an At-St

It takes too many shots from RL to do any real heavy damage to an At-St, and at present the DoT is the major backbreaker...and is most effective supported with RL and LP...i can easily see alot of imperial domination in pvp after this comes..hopefully it will thin out our ranks of flame dabblersuntil we get REAL anti-vech weapons..

which is fine seeing as At-St's were never designed to be solo-able. It is supposed tot ake a mid to large size group to do this.

Alright I know alot of people are afraid of the upcomming changes that effect the commando proffession. I would like to state that I for one will accept the changes. We really have no choice. So, on the brightside, it appears that 3 or 4 commandos can stack fire dot's (all flamesingle2 or whatever) on mobs and increaseing the number of stacked dots to an infinate number, since theres alot of flamethrower4 users out there. Specifically, it will take more then 1 commando to stack DOTs but the number of DOTs able to be set on any one mob at a time appears to be infinate (as long as theres that many commandos with flamespecials able to set it on fire). This is a good thing as it prevents us from soloing these big bad mobs were supposedly soloing (I havnt solo'ed them, no idea how to do it).

The food will be rather filling, you can only buy them 1 at a time and it fills you up completely disabling your ability to eat anything else, even after 3 commandos attack you with flame specials. And if you consider the damage our DOTs do (usually 350) 85% brings the dot down within range of unbuffed people. It will however, really suck for BHs who like their fire knockdown specials.

Also the new armor resists for the DOTs will help prevent people from soloing mobs with the DOTs, and although I'm sure rebels will scream their heads off loseing yet another way of downing AT STs, it will still help PvP a great deal.

While I'm not so stupid as to think these changes will only bring good things to our proffession, I will be stupid enough to hope they will shut the nerf herders up long enough for the DEVs to fix our other weapons.

Actually a nut with a LP and master pistoleer solo'ed 3 AT STs in seconds. Someone actually has the screenshot with the numbers on it. And alot of people will argue your point on AT STs not being soloable, it gives the imperial faction an advantage but people claim no player controlled pet should require more then 1 person to take it down.

But as another poster here said, this will deffinately thin the grenadieer ranks alot. I can't wait to see that happen, and while our DOT is being brought down alot, it is still a serious threat. Chef foods are getting buffed up alot so people are less likely going to be wasting there money on anti-fire food when they realize that they could beef up there ranged and melee deffense or other things and get missed by the fire all together.

What I had just thought of last night was a fullproof way to fix the dot thing, add a component to the BE craftables that when placed in clothing, made it flame retardent. There is such a thing as fireproof clothes and it would add a chance for the player to ignore the DOT completely, exactly like bleed deffense. It would be a small chance for each piece, like 12% or so, but stackable and yes technically you can make someone ignore fire all together, but then they would just be a specialist and get brought down by a nut with a carbineer.

What I'm saying here is, the nerfs in this patch are easily gotten around. 4 commandos can still run up and lay on flamesingle2 on 1 player and bam, he has not only the 3 dots reduced by 85% but the 4th dot at full damage stacked on him. Each player will be able to lay on there OWN dot, which basically means we can stack 100+ bleed shots onto a krayt as long as we had 100 people there to do it. It stops the solo'ers but it makes the groupers alot more powerful. Probably exactly what the Devs had in mind, although I think a group of 20 grenadieers soloing krayts like they were durni's isn't exactly a way to buff the group.
