Thread: Shouldnt Rocket Launchers have a re-load option?
You make a good point.
But RLs are expensive, i am looking at about 35-45 k per launcher. Thats over 1000 credits per shot.
And i am going to miss a lot too from what i hear.....i guess i'll have to use my flamer to get all my xp for Heavy Weapons 1 - 4 so i dont throw my money away.
yea RLs are considered magazine rounds..however..your paying for the round AND the weapon at the same time when you 'reload'...
I think the RL should be the only 'disposable' weapon which can get charges....and even then it still will be around 15-20k for a full round..but still alot cheaper than 30+k
My favorite Dev quote in the commando forums. Also one of the last of any consequence.

Ok this is what the Devs are thinking with the current Rocket Launcher layout. You don't have 1 rocket launcher with 34 shots, you have a stack of 34 rocket launchers, each one with 1 shot in it. This is exactly how modern day rocket launchers work, 1 shot and its done and disposable.
But I think they should change this, make the charges for the rocket launcher, put the charges into the tube and fire the charges (the tube would wear out over time, the charges wouldn't be sliceable). And make the RL an equipable weapon, but require the use of a "special" to fire it, so that we still get the ham cost.
Another reason the RLs are disposable is to prevent people from burning rounds in PvP against other players.
I have suggested this idea in the past and people just argue that it cannot be done due to the game not being able to do "ammo"
Simply put, you buy 2 things. The launcher , and the ammo "charges" if you'd like.
The launcher: This will be the speed and accuracy attribute
The ammo: This will be the damage + blast radius , and type of attack. Just give us certs for "acid" ammo etc etc
I'd love more wearable containers too. Not sure if it'd help with this specific problem but, being a born pack rat, I never have enough inventory. Besides, these weapons are SLOW. I don't think I'll go thru 'em like I would a pistol.
