Thread: commando takes 169 points, what to do with the rest?

ok i plan on becoming master commando, i know there not what they used to be (i remember the days with a lone commando would drop a charging band of 10-20 ppl if they were dumb enough to stay close together) but they got hit too hard with the nerf bat and i heard they were gonna get some lovin of some kind so im going with it.


what im wondering is what to do with my left over skill points, thought about maybe pistoleer, i can use the pistoleer skills with the launcher pistol right?


i also thought about rifleman, but not sure so what do you all think?

I agree with Bajonett, master teras kasi and novice medic fit in quite nicely with commando. Especially the added defences from teras kasi.

I'm going for Master Commando, Master Pistoleer and Teras Kasi x-x-x-3 for no other reason than I love both Commando and Pistoleer professions, and I'll get some nice defense bonuses from the TKA tree.


Plus, eventually, I'll be able to wear Madalorian armour and duel-wield pistols - yay!

I did Rifleman first and now I'm working on Commando.I like this combo not because of any bonuses they have but because they combine my two favorite things in this game: setting people on fire and shooting them in the head. I use Rifleman for PvPand Commando for PvE. I feel like this is a good match for me,but I would hesitate to recommend it to others. Just my two cents.

madalorian armor? i thought that was bounty hunter only and when are they releasing duel-wield for pistols and will it be pistoleer, bh, or both?

I like master commando/ TKM/ Dirty fighting 3 from Smuggler. You get the good defence from TKM and a nice ranged kd. Also fire dots and feign death will kill just about everything after a while, even if it has high heat resists. Master pistoleer instead of TKM will also be good too, but I'm not too sure because im not a pistoleer.

Mandalorian armor is certified for Master Bounty Hunters, Commandos, Squad Leaders and Rangers. As to dual-wield, it is believed that it won't be introduced until after JTL is released, and it seems that it will only be available to professions that utilize 1-handed weapons. Ie. Pistoleer, Fencer, and possible the 1-handed saber line of Jedi.

I just got back Master commando (well i'm damn close) and im planning on getting 0040 of smuggler for low blow and last ditch, novice medic for the heals and as much of pistoleer as i can (not sure on the numbers but something like 0444 or around that). I'm hoping that the pistoleer will make me 'ok' in PvP with the ranged knockdown and a few other tricks with a good geo pistol.

Going unique here. Master Heavy Swordsman (made it yesterday), and grinding up commando from scratch(unarmed is a PAIN.)

That's a good way to go. I've found that Master Pistoleer and Smuggler 0040 alone is actually more powerful than anything in the commando profession, myself. Lowblow, panic shot, and last ditch with pistoleer defenses and mods is quite potent.
