We've all noticed all the "What do we want most." threads that have been so plentiful lately. I've seen, 'em, I think they're good, but I'm also a bit worried at the same time.

I see so many people asking that they fix the LP, fix the HAR, fix the grenades, give us unarmed specials etc. but then I see the others that wish for the E-web, wish for the assault rifle, wish for the assault carbine, etc.

I'm worried about them giving us LP specials, "fixing" it, and making it our new tree, and just claiming that we're fixed. Same with the HAR, same with grenades. This would leave us with nothing different, nothing to really help us out, or make us more commando-like. If they give us unarmed specials and claim us fixed, we're even worse off. Why? Because we will NEVER be able to compete unarmed with a TKA for instance, and we're STILL stuck within melee range all of the time. What reminds you more of a commando? A man running around punching everyone on the battlefield? or a man running around strafing people at full auto speeds with an assault carbine?

E-web, assault rifles, and assault carbines, to me, would most benefit our profession and put us where we belong. I DON'T want an assault rifle. In future patches, it seems the devs plan to put rifleman in the position of field snipers by capping their speed. A commando IMHO, should not be a man lying prone, 64m from every one of his targets, slowly picking 'em off one by one, unless he specializes further as a rifleman. Again, I feel we should be in the middle of the action, running, gunning, etc. The assault carbine, assuming we are given beneficial specials and skill mods, would best capture this. The E-web would be a BEAUTIFUL field support weapon, and I see no problems with this, but I DO think we should continue to push for the assault carbine first and foremost, as the flamethrower IMHO should not be our MAIN weapon, but a "special case" weapon, helping to deepen our versatility, not defining our role.

Keeping in mind, this is all personal opinion, I think that we should push for more defenses as a result of our brawler Pre-req, rather than new specials and a tree for it, or even a "commando-toughness" as previously suggested. I think we should push for the HAR and flamer trees to combined, as previously suggested, and throw the E-web in there with 'em, having that be our "Support and special case weapons tree" if you will, and opening a new tree for our NEW main weapon type. This new tree could give us a cert. at novice for a carbine of some form, cold damage perhaps, and another cert for a blast damage carbine at the top of the tree or at master. I envision the tree giving us mods along the lines of the BH carbine tree, but of course with unique specials. I figure the specials would be low speed cap, just all out hard hitting attacks, perhaps causing a stun state from the sheer force of 'em.

I think grenades are fine, as are our Heavy weapons. Fine in the sense that they're good ideas... not that they're working properly. If they CAN fix these, great, I'd LOVE to see grenades flying on the battlefield, explosions of acid and fire reigning down on the enemy, etc. but I don't feel that this is as important as redefining Commandoes through a new weapon type and tree. We simply cannot do what we need to do with our current weapons. I don't care if I have to pickup master carbineer to make our carbines tree viable, that's fine too, but I really feel this type thing is more along our lines. We should be accurate, we should be fast, we should be hard-hitting. And for our combat skill point cost, why the heck not? Sure, perhaps they're nerfing buffs, and perhaps they're nerfing armor. But I just don't recall it being very prevalent in Star Wars to see sheets and columns of flaming flashign around all over the place.

The main thing about our current setup and what would be the setup if we got unarmed specials, is that we would be so limited in range. Sure, you can use overcharge shot with a flamer, but I mean... come on, that's not all we need. If we got a carbine, we could be effective as soon as we hit 64m, and if things got up close and personal, why not whip out the flamer? I definately think we should keep the flamethrower and HAR, but I don't think we should keep them as our main role-defining weapons.

Gotten written on a whim, but I think it captures decently what I was tryin to see... I'll try to remember to check back when I'm less tired and have eaten somethin lol.
