Thread: The way I see the commando trees!

Novice Commando:


-E-Web cert, Assult Rifle/Carbine cert, LP cert, FT cert, grenade launcher cert


Field Tactics: (combat exp)


Box 1: Stock Hit 1 (posture change)

Box 2: Accuracy and speed mod (for unarmed and grenade launcher)

Box 3: Stock Hit 2 (dizzy)

Box 4: Bombarding Shot (multiple hit grenade launcher special) Accuracy and speed mod (for unarmed and grenade launcher)


Heavy Weapons Tree: (E-web repeating blaster)


Box 1: Area Spray 1 (area attack)

Box 2: accuracy and speed mod

Box 3: Area Spray 2 (area attack with higher dmg than area 1)

Box 4: Area Suppression (high dmg posture change) (accuracy and speed mod)


Flame Tree: (same)


Assult Weapons Tree: (assualt rifle)


Box 1: Auto Fire 1 (high dmg attack)

Box 2: acuracy and speed mod

Box 3: Auto Fire 2 (higher dmg than 1)

Box 4: (accuracy and speed mod)

-I would support keeping & balancing the current combat system.
But I get the feeling they don't care.

I agree with all your trees except the one for the assualt rifle. I don't believe Commando needs a rifle. We are not meant to be laying prone from 64m and shooting. IMO this should be a carbine.

I see the Assault Rifle as being like an M-16. Can be used at both long and medium range with decent effectivness. It could get some slow mind hits (like a rifle) and some fast action/health/random hits for the Carbine.

I like your set of the skill trees. I only have one thing i would add,and Im not sure where in the mix it would go.We need some commando only specials with the LP. Maybe put it at Master if nothing else.But, we need something specialized for the LP if we are going to keep it at all.

Simple solution to that... just drop it. I don' know too many commando sthat would cry... and I know some 56k users who WOULD cry in happiness that this little beaut wouldn't be there to take 'em out of the battle... by lag of course.


Sure, it's kinda neat to have around... jsut cuz we always have, but I don't care to develop it further as it doesn't really seem like something the commando would use IMHO

Taking away the LP wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. In fact,as a heavy weapons specialist a pistol doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me . My post was based on the original poster leaving in a LP cert with novice. If you leave it in we need specials for it.Of course,if it's gone that solves the problem just as nicely.

Ah come on, we can't lose the LP! It's my favourite duelling pistol.


1)Lunge/KD2

2) Land Flame DoTs on the opponent

3)Equip LP, fire off wild shots, I don't care if the hit or not.

4) Burst run behind the opponent, kissing my 1.5Mb line all the way.


Sod it, lose the LP. The above is only for novelty value.
