what aoe weapon has the longest range (don't care about dmg) ?

from what I can tell the Acid Stream Launcher is supposed to be AOE, can anyone confirm this for me.

is it a real tight cone? Also does anyone know about the corellian destroyer, is that aoe?

Here is just a little friendly hint. The trick with the commando profession. Isnt to find a weapon that does AoE. (Albeit currently AoE is broken on everything but grenades for the Commando profession). The real trick. Is to find one that DOESNT do AoE.

I'm not entirely sure this is entirely correct. I was trucking around Kashyyyk today using the Acid Stream Launcher and was able to apply my state specials (root in particular) as well as the weapons default +blind+ to entire crowds of MOBs. The actual damage didn't effect everyone, but the states did take across the board. I ahve to admit that using Fan Shot with the ASL was an impressive spread of damage, and a quick way to aggro EVERYTHING in the vicinity ![]()
All in all though, I find using the DXR6 to be my best solution to avoiding the AoE problem...yeah, it's not a commando weapon per se, but it works and has an impressive range

Which shows you how much our weapon "powering up" is screwed - during testing the RL did AoE, and its off/on with some RLs even on live. All our weapons do (or were intended to do) AoE, except for the Proton Rifle and Massassi Knucklers.

I use the acid stream for long distance AOE especially when I want to stick a concussion shot or lowblow, also occasionally the lightning beam cannon.
The RL is probably the most useless weapon in my arsenal but does AOE as well (and as a weaponsmith, the biggest pain in the butt to make too).

Only recently made it to Master Commando after a while ofline (most done after the CU went live), so less knowledgable than most of you guys.
But are you sure on the above comment. I've got an HAR that I used to get a lot of the HW xp, specifically because it says in the description that it is single target only. In using this weapon, I've found that that is indeed the case, with no AoE (broken or otherwise). It made it a lot easier when grouping as it stopped the mass aggro from the flamer I prefer to use (albeat without as much damage, but still useful in not getting your group members annoyed from pulling a pack of 6 or more MOB's down on everyone).
