Ok, I just became a novice commando (No, I dont want to be a jedi, I still dont know how to become one anyway) And in my marksman level, Im a 2/4/3/4 marksman, and not so long ago decided to become a commando. Now anyway, the first thing I wanted to get was a rocket launcher, yet they werent on sale... so I bought a plasma flamethrower. But then I just noticed I cant use it cause it needs 45 or something combat level and I only got 16(cheap, isnt it) So how am I supposed to get enough combat level to use it?

A Launcher Pistol
It sucks we know. This is one of our many problems with the CU.
CU seems to set the bar quite high for new players/characters due to the difficulty of obtaining worthwhile equipment at the lower levels. For commandos its even worse since we really don't have any worthwhile equipment for levelling. Your best bet would be to level up your secondary profession (the one with all the specials you will need to be effective as a commando) and then level commando. Yup it sucks. I'm sorry mate, I feel for you.

There are also 2 conditions to be cert for flame thrower. You need CL 54 AND master commando. I know 'caus I just mastered the profession and I could not use it untill I did.

Not entirely true. There are 2 versions of the Flamethrower. The plasma FT is CL54 + Master, weaponsmiths often name them "Flamethrower" in the description, but are recognized as a Plasma FT by the game. The regular FT is CL40 (IIRC) and box 3 of the Incedentary line (xx3x). You can also look at Heavy Acid Rifle (HAR) which is certified in box 1 of the acid line (xxx1), but I am unsure of the CL requirement. Best bet is to go to Bazaar Terminal and do a vendor search (global) to find all the commando weapons and what CL / skills are needed. Remember that many commando weapons are listed under heavy weapons, special heavy weapons, and rifles. If you are going to use the LP for any significant period of time, you may consider a secondary profession that can give you some specials to use with it like pistoleer.

Thanks for the heads up on that, was not aware there was 2 types of flamer. I find the smuggler specials go good with commando weapons
