I've just logged out of game to hit the sack, it's quarter to two in the morning and I have work in the morning. Why did I stay up so late? I was in a fantastic group at the local grind town (Improved Job Market). Two commandos, two swordsmen, one tka, one MDoc and one Medic in training, and some other fellas who came and went. Huge success. Masses of XP, we totally forgot about going for the missions and just ploughed through three lairs at a time. There was a fair number of incaps, and even a few deaths (but we had an MDoc), but there is nothing like taking on nearly ten mobs at a time. Berserk's going off left right n center, flame throwers and lightning bolts, heals raining down, constant taunts to keep the aggro off the medics, hell I even threw grenades around! My alt that I was playing is Mswords, Com 4000, Pike trainee, hes gonefrom Pike 0300 to 2334 already. Okay so that makes three commandos in the group if you include his grenade tendancy.


But what I found is a common ground with commandos. I've been playing as a Swordsman with Pike AoEs for a few weeks now, and just like commandos, I either get into a good aoe group and do brilliant things all night, or half my template doesn't get used. I've actually sent people running away out of a group that I was in, and I saw the same fella back at town a few minutes later begging to get into a non-aoe group!


You have to be 'ard to be a commando, and if your medics and riflemen mates can't keep up with your aggro, it's time to find new mates!


There are other players who have templates to keep up with yours!


I was lucky enough to be in a whole group of them tonight.

SWG was never the game I wanted it to be, even before the NGE. All the NGE did is take away what gameplay SWG actually did have.

PS: I would like to add that I love the melee mods given to commandos since the CU, I think they're brilliant. That's why I have Commando on my melee template. It's not just grenades (although Glop Grenades are brilliant), it's practical too
