Ok, seeing the new weapons and reading a bit on the carbineer forum sent my mind raseing a bit and stopped with these thoughts.
What if our branches are redone in the CU to be similar to what BH is at the moment but with some changes. Instead, as BH have it, of having invest-carb-pistol-HW xp we get combat-rifle-carbine-HW xp. My thoughts as to why was with the addition of the proton rifle/carbine and explosive shell rifle. Of course that would mean merging flamer and HAR line, and moving heavy consumables to either HW line or field tactics.
If it goes this way, not nesecerly in the CU, it would mean that commandos be more of what I envision we should have access to without having to dabble. Good long range to pick them of but not as good as a rifleman, good crowd controll/area damage but not as good as a carbiner and excelent heavy damage. We would be more of a jack-of-most weapons then what we are now.
What do you all think?

Once I had a similar idea with commando looking like this:
Field Tactics - Grenades/Main Defenses
Hvy Weapons - Our consumeables/Defenses
Special Hvy Weapons - FT/HAR/Defenses
Assault - LP/Carbine/Rifle/Defenses
With the CU however, our trees won't be changing (tho, after the Combat Upgrade...there is chance we may get that new commando tree if we need it - anyone remember that?
). However, our weapons will (finally) become useful...and in most cases, deadly...
If after the CU, we're given the option to get that new commando tree...I really hope we'll be seeing the FT/HAR merged, and the 4th tree for our LP/New CU Weapon(s)...its straightforward and logical, especially since we'll be getting a combined accuracy/speed mod pool for our weapons back, as they originally were in Beta.

Just a random what if question...
What if all the rangers and scouts went on strike and stoped gathering resoruces. Would the economy hurt alot or alittle.

Than other people would just become rangers and scouts, because most likely crafters would up their buying rates on resources.

Unlikely to have much of an impact, unless game mechanics prevented you from being able to harvest. Crafters would rely on their stockpiles and new rangers and scouts would take the old harvesters' place. Short-term prices jumps possible.

I use hides for crafted goods. I imagine I'd just deplete my stock and switch to resource kits. Prices would go up a little. Why do you ask?

Seriously though there will never be a time when we run out of resources, the more rangers/scouts that quit, the more expensive resources will be and therefore the more people that will enter that work to make money,thus restoring equilibrium. Isn't a market economy just super?
