I originally posted this on the corvette feedback form:

Can you use the special heavy weapons for commando up there? If so has anyone tried the RL? How about theHPBC cannon from a rear location while the TK guys tank? I'm still trying to figure out when SHW would be useful . I'd be willing to buy a crate of HPBCs if I knew when I got up there I would be able to use it effectively"indoors".

As odd as it may sound I've been relying more on my flamethrower than anything else up there, does surprisingly well against things, especially if you can get it KD/Dizzy.

That's kind of what I figured. I just keep hoping for a situation that makes SHW useful for a group in PvE combat. Based on the skill points I'm using for a commando, it'd be cool if there was a time when I would feel compelled to use something beyond just one weapon with two specials.

Well, personally I was having fun with a group on dath the other day... had some melee guys with me trying to take on maloks or whatever they're called and I kept one shotting them before they could even get in range using an HPBC But other than that I use them a fair bit in big fights like NS elders (although my PH might actually work better for taht).

A lot of the situations they would be most useful in are so cramped that you can't really use them effectively. I did find them helpful in the geo cave at times though. I just couldn't help but hear a cash register go cha-ching every time I fired one though... even louder on the misses.

And watching power-hammers do far more damage to multiple targets using area-attacks at the same timedidn't make me feel any better.

1. yes you can use them

2. get a bunch of HLC (heavy lightnling cannons), get them sliced for (damage btr) i still cant say exaclty how usefull they are really.

3. i also used RL up there, but their ideal range is 64, and you dont get that.

4. have fun

I would also recomend a acid stream launcher and an HAR, as the super battle droids are less resistant to acid than heat and have 100% blast resist. They are also what you want the lightning cannon for, but no matter what its a good time.

Oh, and just let me say one thing. (well, 2 actually)

Flamethrower is a "Special Heavy Weapon"

The things you are talking about are just "Heavy Weapon"
