Thread: Restrictions on Heavy weapons?

You can use heavy weapons indoors now, though the heavy weapons wont do much good in the DWB against the SBD since they are AP3 with 95% energy resists and 100% blast resists. The acid launcher (AP2) is probably your best bet (SBD have 40% acid resists), but using a full tube I could only take down about 20% of the ham on a SBD, which really isnt very cost effective IMO.

Hellshot is 100% correct...a recent change allows us to use our Consumable weapons (including Grenades) indoors now...the issue you are having is do to resists...All of the best places in game seem to have high resists to our best weapons, especially high heat resists...this is one of our issues we often take the the Devs...a lack of new content that have lower Commando resists (so we can enjoy them too)...

So, you are saying that the Bunker is full of Heat resistant Armored baddies.

Is that HAR really worth the 6.9 sec delay???

Actually I haven't received confirmation of the Bunker's resists yet...one person told me that commandos actually do pretty well comparitively to other profession in the bunker...

Regaring the HAR...not really in it's current state...it's good pretty much only when you are going up against something with 100% heat resists...but many times you find the NPC's with high heat resists also have high Acid resists...I have 2 (one damage sliced, the other speed) and I rarely use either...I sometimes break them out when I come across a creature with an Acid Vunerability, but I still find I kill them faster with the FT...

Are there certain places that Heavy Weapons can't be used? It's just that I noticed how low the acid and elec resists on the DWB creatures were from a target through the floor exmination, and thouht it would be a nice p ace for a commando, buth eard some things about heavy weapons being unuseable in some places.

As far as I know Heavy weapons are restricted to outdoor use only. Unless they been changed recently and I missed the patch I think they are still set for outdoor use only. I rarely use them anymore sence the cost for me to use them (master commando) is to high for me to use them with there low damage they seem to give. Its always worth a try maybe they changed it but I dont think anythings been changed in a while.

I went in this morning, and the heat resists weren't horrible on most things. But they were medium or heavy armored, which means with the 40% resist, which was about the low end of it, you weren't hitting for much. I ended up using my TKA skills instead, just to stay alive.

Of all the resists in there, heat actually tends to be the lowest, some have really low acid resistance as well (though some are immune.)

The only drawback is the high AR, but at this point the DoT is your most useful tool. Get used to playing a supporting role down here for nowis all I can say.

IIRC SBD and BD have heat resists of 60%. The resist is the only thing you really have to worry about since the DOT of the flamethrower seems to ignore armor rating. So when I go down there I usually start off with the flamethrower dots, then switch to either my disruptor rifle (acid damage, ap2) or my VK if we need people tanking. For the deathwatch and blacksun, I pretty much stick with my flamethrower since the blacksun go down fast and the deathwatch have 100% acid resists.
