Hey fellow commandos,

I started as a Holo Grinder, Now I am having too much fun igniting others with my FT.

My HAR is also great, but slow.

My question is How do you effectively PVP, or Defend a base.

I have been basically owned by some l33ts that are buffed and attacking our bases. I have even gone above the call of duty and attacked Turrets and ATSTs. Everytime, they seem to just drain my pools.

If I am heavily buffed it may take a few shots, but I still MISS with my shots.

Just one time I would like to land a DOT on a Turret before I head back to the cloning facility.

Please post some suggestions so that I do not embarrass the Commando profession anymore.

/thanks in advance

Stop trying to DOT the Turret I think you could actually do this a long time ago but they pulled that from the game you can't DOT a turret to my knowledge

There is a food called something snowflake I can't remember the exact name but if you eat this stuff it will drasticly improve your accuracy with the use of intimadate and this food you will find you can even land a DOT on those annoying fencers lol.

Well, then focus on Accuracy and do damage from a distance to the Bigger stuff.

I would like say that I did sneak up on some invaders that were attacking the base turrets and I slammed a Flame Cone on them.

I was killed after they saw my shot, but I did notice that all of them had to heal themselves (not fun when a turret is shooting you).

So many people claim that the Commando is a tank, but how are we tanks if there is resistance to the Flame Dot?

I have never survived a good ole fashioned tank run in and start shooting, I do better if I sneak around the corners and the lay the fire down.

People who claim that a commando is a tank simply don't know the profession if we were tanks we would have high defenses and we don't, actualy we have the lowest defenses in the game of any combat classexcept maybe the BH. The great Commando tanks are normally TK/Comm combos relying heavly on there TK defenses. PvP is very hard as a pure commando with no other combat profession to fall back on that is just the state of the commando right now and we are all hoping for a change one day. You just need to remember that your also a master marksmen look at the specials and you will find that alot of them work with your commando weapons (aim with FT etc...) these will help a little, also if you have the money don't forget about consumables RL are a good thing and can really do some damg to a turrets. Never try to go toe to toe with a melee profession get your DOT in burstrun and start kiting that is the only way you will take them. Food is your friend KD food is good that accuracy food i mentioned earlier is great and get some BE clothing +15 intimidate will do wonders intimidate is your greatest defense against a melee player.

Simply put, we deal EXTREMELY good damage in PvP against unarmored targets. But if your target, like me, wears 85% base comp, then you basiclycant do anything butscratchthem withDOT burns. However, on top of the 85% comp, in many cases they will also have a shield generator, i got mine for only 50k and it makes the users heat resistance (stacked with their armor)somewhere around 125%. Now, you will never do any damage, apart from the DOT burn. This turns the commando into nothing more than a suicidal annoyance.

On top of all this recently (few months ago) they added the wonderfull new fireblankets

Yeah, sorry got cut off...

At any rate, if your enemy has good armor and a doc around to hand them a blanket, you are utterly useless in PvP.

I did some testing last night, before I went to the bunker.

I guess we should allways realize that we can Kite STs all day long.

I walked up to an IMP base and Fire Cone on 4 STs and a Imperial officer (light blue con), All of the IMPs in the area where hurt badly, and on fire. I dropped 2 STs then I had to retreat, of course the Imperial officer dissapeared somewhere or died..

The other ST followed me burning as I got him down to barely a sliver of health (and mind, for some reason my Overcharge was only hitting the mind).

I didn't make it, but I have recently dropped medic and If I had medit my 300+ stim b pacs would have helped out alot. I think I will drop artisan and go Commando, Medic, and TKA or Pistol.

We will see as the saga of Commando VS the galaxy continues.

Preacher meet quire... quire meet preacher. Im just kidding a little. Seriously we are having a hard time having people believe that we are not uber leet in PvP. This is mainly because of the high damage that they see us do in PvE. Very frustrating if you ask me. My best advice for PvP is to do what I just did but it drained me of a ton of money. (Well a ton to me at least) Buy a really fast Krayt Flamer if you really want to use it in PvP. The slower ones that are like 4.8 or 4.6 have a recharge time of about 8 second at master level. In PvP 8 seconds is an eternity. Other than that... eat that snow stuff and that should help as well.
