At heart im a sword lover so the first profession i set out to master was swordsman. Today i am only one block from swodsman and im gonna enjoy mastering the preofession and killing some major animals but im faced with a dilema. I really wanna try out commando cause they look so kick ass but i cant keep both swordsman AND commando.. Whats so great about command and which in your opinion is better? If i could keep them both i'd be in heaven but theres just not enough skill points. Would i be better off with swordsman or what? I really love melee and up close fighting but the main reason i love swordsman is because of the spin attacks and decimating so many enemies at once. Does the command have a attack that injurs multiple targets at once? Thanks for any feedback!

I just realized you only need master unarmed to get to commando. I thought you had to master brawler! I CAN get swordsman and commando and have 4 skill points left, lol. Well im still greatly interested in commando. Is the profession really buggy or is it pretty much centered now? And is it mostly ranged attacks? What are the ups and downs? Im pretty sure people have asked this question before so if theres an article already posted about this stuff can you direct me towards it?

Well on the idea on whether we have issues or not is split in the commando community. Therefore, take what I have to say with a grain of salt. The commando is a decent profession that has had many ups and downs. In my opinion, we only have one working skill tree; the Flame Thrower. It is a powerful PvE weapon, however without the DOT you might rely on your Swordsman more than your commando. With commando you will get Ranged Mit 3, but with little defensive and state change mods, (dizzy, KD etc) The HAR though "fixed" is still terrible and pales in comparison to the FT, therefore dont think of using it. Grenades will kill you before you kill the target and rocket launchers are useful in very specific situations only. (AT-ST, Turrets, some NS) The way I use my commando right now, and I am master, is as a support proffession. I mastered Commando first and then TKA. I use my FT to flame the opponet and then quickly switch back to TKM for its defensive bonuses. (FYI you lose your defenses when equiping your FT that you get from swordsman) I hope this helps you and I am sure there will be others that give their opinion but this is mine. Hopefully the combat balance will help us out... good luck.

In blast Damage...which is our niche (the ranged version)....swordsman is a whooooooole lot better despite being melee (getting kited)

Still....if you wanna take down an At-St like how a special elite soldier like a commando should...the swordsman is really your best bet....BUT without the cool animations/explosions (despite them usually being weaker than a big hammer...hmm...)

ive masterd both, swordsmen is better pvp wise and pve wise. Don;t do both......... because............. swords just to good mind damage and flamethrower heatlh.... but i sugest goin heavy swrodsmen you hit faster, just about as strong, and some decent bleeds. I'm master fencer master swordsmen and i can pretty much tank and kill anything in the game. Just a willing of time really.

Commando...well, who knows.

Wait for the combat balance! According to Garvin, Thunderheart said no profession is as affected by the CB as is the commando. And, according to TH, it's supposed to be things that we'll like! I wonder if he knows what we'd like....anyway, he also said many of our concerns are directly dealt with in the CB. Too bad they can't just tell us what they're doing...why all the hush-hush?
