I heard somthing about RIS armor is that a new type of armor or what is it?

Yeah, it's a type of armor. Not exactly new though, was put into the game several months ago.

if you change the forum skin to the droid invasion one its what the twileik is wearing at the top of the page(you can really only see the helmit)

It's a quest-based armor. A Master AS has to do a quest to get the schematic. Once he has the schematic, he then has to collect some rare, hard to get items. An albatross piko-piko feather,some kind of woolymander bone frags, and another I can't remember.
It's ugly... I mean - unique. It kinda looks like armor a Samuri would wear, but more star-warsy. I think it's supposed to have high kinetic protection...

RIS can have 0/0/0 HAM, 80% kinetic resist and I think upwards of 60% to everything else except acid and I believe stun. (and lightsaber) with 0 ham that makes it the best PvE armor in the game imho.
