Commandos are gonna have 0 Heavy weapon mods and have to rely solely on skill tapes?

Commandos are poor enough as it is! Clarify please someone.

Yer, i read that too, and i'm hoping its just the way its phrased or something. Imagine having no mods for the heavy weapons, we miss enough as it is let alone with no mods at all. Then there's the cost issue, it costs me enough to buy the damn things without having to buy tapes to make them usable as well. I'm hoping i've got the wrong end of the stick here.

TH's Full Response was as follows:

This is an early answer and is subject to change, but one of our goals for Commandos in the Combat Balance is to change the way Heavy Weapon modifiers work. In simple terms, instead of the modifiers coming from the skill tree, the mods would be available through skill tapes and other means. The skill tree would then be used for something else (as of yet undetermined – there are some things on the table, but we wont know until the Combat Balance sandbox is live).

I don't read this as us only getting our heavy weapon mods from skill tapes...I read this as not getting our Skill mods from a Heavy Weapon Tree...This could mean that we get mods from Novice Commando and Master Commando...or that we get them distributed throughout various trees...or that our Consumable Heavy Weapons are configured differently regarding using skill mods...it's WAY to early to jump to any conclusions.

The KEY thing you should be getting from TH's response is that "The Skill tree would then be used for something else"...We are possibly getting a NEW tree...it's something we've been wanting for a long time and something we were told would never happen...it's a big step in the right direction for our profession and something to be excited about...it's CHANGE...for better or worse, at least it's CHANGE...

I don't know about you guys, but I'm hoping for some kind of Shoe Repair tree.
