I keep seeing in posts that people are saying assault rifle and mean rifle to be a carbine, and others to mean rifle to be rifle.

I for one was under the impression the term "rifle" was to mean carbine, and the term rifle was just to mean a long range weapon....as in theUS's m16, a fast firing high damage ranged weapon, not as in an actual slow, extreme damage rifle a sniper would use...

Can I please get some clarification on this or at least a board wide change from the word rifle to carbine if that is what they mean to say...ie "I'd like to see commando's have an assault carbine"

The NGE is a decent start. Now lets bring the rest of the worlds up to par with Tatooine and Mustafar

I don't think they mean either, specifically. What we want is an "Assault Weapon" of some sort that functions like a machine gun, heavy repeating blaster, etc.

my..raptor you posted alot tonight

My definition of a Carbine:

A light weight, fast firing weapon...doesnt do a whole lot of damage nor is it extremely accurate..just fast.

A Rifle:

A slow firing weapon that does good damage, and has good accuracy.

An Assault Rifle:

A mainline assault weapon which is used by Infantry (ie Infantry Online), it has a decent rate of fire and accuracy..combining both elements of the Carbine and Rifle into one package with a punch....however its not as fast as a carbine, nor as accurate as a rifle.
