It seems to be pretty steep. I did as suggested and didn't pick up the FT til FT3. I have pretty much used pistols on all my characters, so the launcher was just like using a different kind of pistol. FT is much different though.

I was pretty stoked when I went to the mission terms the first time. First time I had ever seen level 25 missions on Correlia. It worked out pretty well, I thought things would be easy. Then I did some Stormtrooper missions. The ST's all conned white to me and I have never had problems with any white con. So I promptly get killed on the first ST mission. No problem. I head back and get killed again. **edit**?!?

After thinking about it I realized I was still thinking like a pistoleer. Spam 4 specials then heal. Spam 4 specials with a FT and you never get to heal beacuse you are dead before then. So I began to use a more conservative approach. Use a special, then heal. Only use specials afterward if you think it will kill the MOB. It's a difficult adjustment and I reckon it will take some getting used to. It seems there is an art to using FT specials wisely.

The other two things I noticed were xp gain and lair reaction. It seems like you don't get any xp for the burn DOT. If I didn't use any specials, the xp I got was a good deal higher than when I used the burn. Might be my imagination, I dunno. Also, I was hunting Banthas and a couple of times I got an odd response after hitting a lair. The number of Banthas that popped up were double what I have seen in the past. Don't know if it's based on the weapon you have equipped or it just never happened to me before.

All in all, a lot of fun. I did die a lot, but I chalk it up to inexperience, lack of doc buffs and my composite chest piece breaking. I guess that will slow you down. I am hoping that in the long run I'll actually be able to get some of the loot my WS so desperately wants.

Hehe, if you're still a pistoleer, you might want to stick to fanshot with the LP actually, since it's a 64m cone it'd be more effective generally.

While hunting with a friend I noticed that if I don't use the special I get much less because my damage was so much less than he could do. He is working on swordsman so he was hitting about 5 times for my one. Although I must say it was fun using the launcher pistol while he was in the middle of fighting, hehe.
