I am a soon to be Master Commando, only a couple of boxes left to grind, and I have a few questions for all you Commandos out there (I am planning to use Commando as my only combat proffession, so I don't want any Pistoleer or TKA advice for example):
- What is the best high level mob to hunt?
- Are there any good loot dropping mobs that Commandos can solo?
- What strategies do you use when hunting such mobs?
- I have tried making a krayt flamethower, but it turned out crap, have any of you got good krayt flamethrowers, what tissues did you use and what are the stats?
- What is the best grenade to use on which mob for getting pure combat xp?
- I know Commandos suck at PVP, but have any of you had any luck at it? Maybe with an expetional Flamethrower?
- What's the best way to take down AT-STs and turrets?
- If money is no issue, can it be fun using heavy support weapons? If so, which ones and on what?

What else besides commando are you? (From you sig I'd say Smuggler but I can't be sure)
The best "High level" mob would probably be Krayts or nightsister.
With good armor (and feign death) you can solo almost anything in the game, nightsisters, acklay, krayts, all drop good loot.
I have a Krayt Flamer that I got yestarday...came out 2.1 speed (yay! hehe, 35%) 450(or so) - 920
Thermal Detonators are fun to use hehe, night AE on them.
Commandos don't suck at PvP, you just have to use it right. If you actually hit someone you'll own them
If you want to take down ATSTs and turrets you're in the wrong profession
Rifleman for ATST, Swordsman for Turrets hehe.
Heavy weapons are really rather fun just for the sheer fact its awesome seeing a Rocket hit someones AV-21. Experiment with them all, the Rocket Launcher is my favorite though.

at-st's and turrets are killable for commandos but they tned to need your expensive support weapons (speciofically rockets) dam sliced rocekts are essential for these tasks (i had fairly accurate dam sliced rockets with over 5k max dam, and 5k with heavy pierce make sa serious dent in the hams on at-st's and turrets) (slicing consumables can be very expensive this is why my commandos also part smuggler), the downside to this method is simple consumables cost i took out a turret on a riad last night and used up approximatly 13k credits worth of rockets and mine were fairly cheap base don what soem of the commandso ive talked with on the same server tend to pay

Thanks a lot for your replies, you have been very helpfull.
I just wonder why someone 1-stared me for posting this. Is it so bad to want to enjoy the Commando proffession? Or is it bad to ask for advice in a place many experienced Commandos visit? If this is what I'm going to get for posting on this forum, I might as well not post at all, this is the first 1-star I've ever been given...

mine is 2.5s (3.2 pre slice) 916 max damage, you need to use tissue, an imp formfitted stock and a regular barrel for a nice FT
- What is the best grenade to use on which mob for getting pure combat xp?
power-up'd proton hands down
- I know Commandos suck at PVP, but have any of you had any luck at it? Maybe with an expetional Flamethrower?
Read my PvP'ing commando thread....the consumables rock too if you haven decent ones
- What's the best way to take down AT-STs and turrets?
shoot em
- If money is no issue, can it be fun using heavy support weapons? If so, which ones and on what?
the heavy particle Beam cannon is best IMO, mine are 5.6s appr 3k max unsliced, accuracy is at +86 (VERY VERY IMPORTANT), rocketlaunchers don't seem to go over +44 accuracy.....again read that pvp'ing commando thread for more info

I agree with all the other replies - However - I just love them Krayts myself. Nightsisters give pretty good loot too. I know their are a lot of good drops on dantooine - mining outpost - i think it was the dantari battlelords or Janta tribes or something like that. If ya have Feign Death and know how to use it - man it makes PvE very fun and solo - able.
I know it sounds silly - but i like cryobans - not for the damage - i just think the animation is so unbelievably cool - makes everyone go oohhh and ahhhh and a lot of "what the heck was that" lol.
As for PvP - who told you we suck? The peeps who suck arent usually using strategy and are just running in expecting to burn all of gods creation. Go in and dont be afraid to die - try different methods. I think 1 poster best said it - we are extremely valuable as support - go in with some guildies and cause some havoc - as a complement to what they are dealing out - i think youll find your damage is loved by everyone - and what a crowd pleaser. I think Stern Synex posts should be read on Pvp - he has a ton of ideas - and ive learned alot of Pvp tricks from reading his posts. SO GET IN THERE AND LIGHT EM UP!!!
As for the 1 star thing - im surprised you got any - no disrespect intended - but we usually reserve 5 stars for either Garvin lol or for extremely profound posts. I can see how you thought 1 star may have meant your post was crap(it wasnt) - but for a post like that - i wouldnt have given any stars - just advice - thats kinda the way it works here. and dont turn your head on your brothers and sisters - we have the best forum compared to the others - and thats rated from other proffessions. Not to mention the best Correspondent. In short - visit often - it is absolutely rich in content and inbrother/sisterhood. It would be a shame to loose ya in the forums. Good luck to ya mate.
Hope it helps
