Ok I have yet to play JTL (will this friday) but why is the revamp taking so long. I mean I for one am annoyed how long it is taking them to get this done. They had better be fixing a lot more than I think they are. The fact that something that should have come out August won't come out until January is well disturbing. I mean all this is just fixing stuff. At this point I really think they are all about sucking us for our money. We really should of have been testing stuff with the sandbox by now. The fact the Devs keep making excuses and putting stuff off is making me wonder. For now I will wait for the Docs, but they had better sweep me off my feet.
Aye sorry to be negative but I'm just concerned with how things are being handled and the fact that it looks like were being cheated.
If this is how long it takes just to fix general combat how long will it take them to fix everything else. I don't expect the game to be perfect or bug free, but it takes this long just to make things fair and balanced?
Lets hope those Docs come out sooner or later this week.

Frankly i don't think we will see the docs for a month. I expect that TH's "announcement" is that they are about to start sandbox testing. I don't think that they will release them until are a good ways into sandbox testing. SO i am saying that they will be our christmas present this year.

I've been down that road several times since last December. I think my biggest "blow up" had to be when Combat Balance was officially delayed and renamed Revamp. But then, the Correspondent Summet gave me a little hope...and Garvin has hinted at some cool stuff. Of course, I also was 100% positive that we'd get a bit of solid info here and there. Ya know, something that we can work with. But, for weeks and weeks, nothing but JTL. I was Beta Testing it at the time and my inspiration there was, quite frankly, to help identify as many bugs as possible so they can fix them BEFORE it went live. My reasoning for that was simply, "If I can help squash these bugs, we'll get our Combat (Insert Word) all that much faster."
Well, needless to say over a Month passed with no news or documents...and I had another semi-rant. BUT, Garvin did expain about how he suspected it was a JTL type of marketing choise. That was good enough for me because it made sence. So, here we are, and JTL HAS been released. Personally, I'm thinking that this Friday Feature will again be JTL based somehow. I'm thinking this becasuse many (me included) are planning on picking it up this Friday and maybe some people are considering it, but are just not sold on it yet. Plus, a lot of people play on weekends, so maybe they will try to market it one more time. Just a thought.
If I were TH, I would make the announcement we are hearing about Combat Upgrade based and make the Friday Feature some sort of Combat Document teaser or snippet...just something! I think that would keep many more people interested in SWG and even bring back enough faith to encourage some of us to buy JTL. That makes sence to me as well...but I'm not TH nor SOE Marketing (pssst! IF I WERE, we'd be talking about Combat Upgrade right now and Pilot Hopefuls would be speculating about the JTL Beta....shhhh!).
Anywho...What I'm really hoping is that SOE will start trickling out parts of these Docs within the next few weeks and then, after some of the info is public, the sanbox testing starts. The way I see things (once again) is that the communityshould judgethe direction of the docs and the testers see if that direction works. So intially, all the HAM and basic changes would be explained before any specifics. Then the Profession specifics would come out and each community would have time to digest and discuss the changes.
Of course, MY way would probably take several years..hehehe. Basically, my biggest fear has always been, "Here ya go! Combat Upgrade!...Whattya think and there ya have it!", without any input. Because honestly, one of the things that makes me and many of us hopeful is the awesome strength of the Commando community.
Those Docs with most definately make us stronger one way or another! 
We've waited THIS LONG! What's another few weeks to sink our Commando Fangs into those docs?
