Thread: Flamethrower Specials
Ok last night i finally ground out the last 75k of HW exp that i needed for the first Flamethrower Skill, thus giving me my first commando special, Flame Single 1. Now I know that we are still struggling to get anywhere with our Elite skills, but for those who dont have the patience to grind away I havea bit of info.
Has anyone noticed that this special cannot be used at any range onther that righ on top of your enemy? I like the fact that it has a realisitic Flamethrower animation, but it seems that you also have to get dangeroulsy close(1m is when it started working) to use the attack. Ideally a real flamethrower should be fired from close range, but cramming the barrell down the throat of the target and pulling the trigger should only be reserved for the sadisitic. If you have seen footage of WW2 they used them from about 7-10m away and with gret effectivness against infantry. I will stop there because its effectivness is another post. Basically is it possiable that the attacks range is bugged? Your thoughts?

Every person has a Base Weapon Speed of a flamethrower depending on the speed of your weapon and what skills you have. My question is what is the speed you can shoot your specials at. Is there some kind of formula for it? All that i know is that is takes much longer than the actual speed of the gun. Thanks everyone.....
There ia a formula, unfortunately it needs folks to figure out that the "speed modifier" is for each of the different specials.
Roughly, though, it is always about 2.25times your weapon's speed at Flame IV.
The fomula for firing speed is:
weapon speed x special's speed modifier x (1- (weapon speed skill/100))
Like I said, if your weapon speed skill is at Flame 4 (+45) then your total speed with specials will be about twice your weapon's base speed, so that suggests that the weapon speed modifiers are all about4.1 or 4.2 (which is in line with other high damage specials for other weapons).
