hello

I have been with SWG for about a year now. Quite some time ago i seen a weapon called the "Beam Rifle". However there is no certification for this weapon. Is it supposed to be a Commando weapon? if so why don't we have the certification for it?

The cert was removed in beta from what I've been told. I think most commandoes think if it should ever come back, it would be more appropriet in the marksman tree, perhaps be certed at master marksman.

The Beam Rifle is something that we Commandos have been asking for for a while now...Many folks have dubb'd it as an Assult Rifle and even suggested that it might replace our Heavy Acid Rifle in it's own tree.

The problem is that there are other Professions that also have been asking for the Beam Rifle cert as well, so if the Devs do decide to cert it, it's anyone's guess who it will go to (but I'm still lobbying for it quite often).

One thought that I had is pushing for it to be cert'd at Master Marksman...that way it would automatically go to both Commandos and Bounty Hunters as well as make the Master Marksman box more desirable.

Anyway...maybe the status of this weapon will be decided via the CU...guess we'll have to wait and see...
