Commando Archive

I've been reading alot of things about the commando profession, and there is alot of talk out there that isn't supported in writing in the game. First of all, are turrets manned or unmanned? If they are, are commandos the only ones cabaple of using them? I first saw this in the Prima strategy guide, it sounded pretty cool at the time. But now I see nothing in the game that supports this. Can anyone tell me if this is true before I shell out the Faction Points to buy a Tower? I'd rather not use several thousand faction points on a guess...

Don't get the turret.

Well, just don't do it now. The max range glitch has not yet been addressed, meaning you can engage any turret at 65m, and it won't fire back...at all. Hell, you could take it out witha CDEF pistol. Keep rackin' up those faction points and get something cooler later on.

Also, no. Turrets are unmanned, and to speak of a commando's "usefulness" is....something new .

At the moment we're just about as useful as a dude, or dudette running around with a scout blaster that blinds your screen, rapes your speakers, and lags everyone within 20m to death.

Hmmm... sounds like it's not so great. I heard something from a master commando on bria (yes, a master). Apparently he's found himself the most kick ass flame thrower i've ever heard of, it kicks the pants off of just about any weapon out there in fact. He said that he bought it with faction points though and not only did he need 9000 points to buy it but also had the rank of brigandier general. Is there any truth behind this ultimate weapon?

hmmm i know that as a rebel I can purchase a "rocket launcher" for 5000 faction points, but im only a corporal so maybe more open up later. I've yet to buy it because im trying to assemble a suit of marine armor.
