Commando Archive

Well after being a BH for a long time (one of the first on my server), I've decided it's time to hang up the old scatter pistol and pursue a new profession. The reasons for this are, quite simply, there's way too many BH's and it just isn't fun anymore. I'm mainly a PvPer and I could care less about investigation. I know commando is pretty broken now, but I'm making an investment... hopefully they'll fix it by the time I have it so it'll be a little easier.

I chose Commando since there's not too many of them right now and I think it'll bea really cool profession when they actually fix it. For my spec, I'm thinking about Master Commando with Pistoleer and Medic skills. I was thinking all tiers at level 4 for the Pistoleer line except for the one on the left and Novice Medic with First Aid 4. I also thought about getting going to Tier 3 in the pistoleer line of the one on the left for Bodyshot 3 and taking First Aid down to 2. Maybe I should pick a new spec all together? Maybe Smuggler for a ranged knockdown but no Pistol mods? Or maybe TKA? Please give some advice.

i'm going commando/tka/medic/scout lol.. yea i know thats alot but i'm only gona master 2 tree's of commando seeing as how i have no use for master heh i think i'll be commando in like 2 days if everything goes well =D i would be glad if there arn't alot of commandos in the game. i mean.. look at the bh's lol now it's just boring then the architects they killed themselves out of a economy. as a former arch i'm so happy to be finally totally combat heh i made more money today then i did "tryings" to sell houses

That's the joy of this game. Get bored and want something different. Go right ahead and change yourself.

That said, Commando is THE slowest combat class to advance. Up to you if that's what you want.

if you're mainly a PvPer i wouldn't go commando, we have no knockdown and our specials have a 15sec+ delay (i dont believe that's being changed either), not to mention we have like no defensive mods

just warning you so when you go from BH (a great PvP profession) to getting beat by novice marksmen you wont be upset

I PvP quite often and am also a commando. Get a good Launcher Pistol and have it sliced (of course). Once they fix the HW's Commando's will be able to do serious damage in PvP...just be sure to go out with a squad or at the least a medic because of the refresh times on Specials. If they would lower the refresh time on specials, commandos would dominateALL combatsituationswith improved damage to HW's...

I havent tried using my flamethrower in PvP yet. and probably wont until they fix the range mods. But I imagine the Flame Cone specials are pretty devastating in PvP

Well I'm making the investment... hoping that once commandos are fixed, they'll be a force to be reckoned with. I've already started the conversion of my character - dropped some skills to pickup novice pistoleer and tier 2 in 2 of the lines. I still have BH Carbine/Pistol 4 to help me level it but I'm gonna have to drop it soon to pick up bralwer and Commando. I'll have pistol whip for a knockdown or I could try smuggler for low blow.

Dinan, wait. Right now, the COmmando isn't implemented adequately, and you'll only be disapointed.

Try something else and watch this forum for updates to the profession.

Why woul you switch from a working class to a broken class?

Go pistoleer/medic or pistoleer/ch instead, those are the most powerful PvP combos.

With commando you can expect to lose PvP most of the time.

Well that's what I'm saying... I'm making an investment, hoping that when the fixes go in, they'll be a pretty good profession. I just want something different right now... I've used pistols a lot already and I don't like being a CH.

Welcome to the best going idea im doing the same thing. Bleed shoting cu pas with scatter and then using unarmed while medic heals is good way to get unarmed xp ha ha. Im tired of seeing so many at st running around untouched thast why im going commando and in the end of the leveling what is there but the gcw so have to find a class that goes well with that and rightnow bh isnt it

I have done something similar to you guys.. except I went from Commando/Smuggler to Commando/Bounty Hunter. I have now decided to go back to my original template plan I decided on before the game was released Commando/Smuggler. . So you and me both are betting on these fixes. Thats quite a gamble and I hope it pays off as I've been wanting to be a Commando for really long time.

Lets keep our finger's crossed on these changes .

Oh yea I'm currently a Commando/Bounty Hunter/Smuggler. With some boxes in all of them. I'm out of points and have to take the gamble now as my exp is starting to cap out.

I'm hoping that with their proposed changes and hopefully more in the future that Commando will be a great profession. It's always been the one I was most interested in and intend on pursuing it. Who knows, they may get it right and it'll end up being a very powerful profession.

I'm gonna take the leap of faith and assume that it's only gonna get better.
