Hi guys, after a long slog I just made novice commando

Can I trouble you for some tips and tricks?

Like what and how to fight to get the job done?

I currently have a flamer(without its special, obviously), a launcher pistol and a smattering of fragsI looted off dead mobs.

Oh, and i live on Tat and usually fight Imp npcs all day long.

So any advice would be most welcome.

Pretty much stick with the launcher pistol. Flame cone has its uses providing you got something tanking for you and theres a few mobs on the tank.

Until the weapons are patched. Dont buy anything more. Unfortunately you didnt have the *bonus* of being commando while the LP gave pistol xp, so you don't get to get easy pistoleer skills. Dont even bother throwing grenades or using the flame thrower. Maybe go buy a crate of tuned muzzles.. Anyways, just stick with the LP and fight like how you did on day 1 with a cdef pistol. Any other gun will grant xp to slow.

My advice? Drop the tree. Drop it now. You will be FAR less aggrvated in the long run by forefitting your long grind to nov commando and playing a class that actually WORKS (woah, what a concept... something that works) until Commando is fixed than you will be by trying to get Heavy Weapons experience with a Cannon that works about as well as a chair leg.

Ah the hate.

Look commando is going to be THE hardest class to level in the game. It sounds like we are getting our reward within the month.

Fastest way is to kill bunnies on Rori.

I've no problem with Commando being frigging impossible to level.... IF we were any good. The complete abscence of any decent damage weaponry is just sad. Especially when you contemplate the fact that the specials suck too. Considering I have to be close enough to kiss the guy to hit him with a commando weapon anyways, I might as well just use the Unarmed skills I had to get to get Commando - those do FAR more damage than Commando ever could.

The best and most effective way to level right now in myopinion would be to go up pistoleer stances tree for stopping and fan shot and grind away with a launcher pistol until you can get higher into the flamethrower tree for added effectiveness. The defense modifiers are also a good bonus to have as well.

Its also good to have some sort of medic with suppression fire that makes things alot easier and faster with less downtime due to healing.

no, bunnies on rori suck. They take forever to kill. Keral banthas are way better, they dont help each other and they are slower and dead in one overcharge from a laser rifle equally rare as bunnies too.

One shot from a laser rifle? You realize this is the Commando Forum, and he has to use a Heavy Weapon, right?

I suggest picking up another proffesion till we are fixed.....seriously........
