Thread: HAR vs Flamerthrower?
I was just wonderingwhythe HAR has the highest exp requirments and is the weakest one dosent make sense to me when you can just get flame spec I and do more dmg pound for pound not to mention get the killer burn. Seems to me the HAR could use some more love and some cooler graphics. The bb gun sound and stick thing that shoots from it where acceptable when the class was broken but now there has to be some graphic improvements to go with the dmg upgrade.
Still love the new HAR but for the hw exp you could get much better.

Not really a definitive answer, but more of a stab in the dark lol. Well, how about a question instead.
Are heat resistances more prevelant in the game than acid resists? If so then the acid is going to generally do more damage anyway.
just a thought.
Trash
I really don't like the har.
Mine have a 5.2 sec speed, however when I use acid single I have a 21 second downtime. After I use my 4.9 second flame thrower I get 9-11 second downtime, I could like to know what gives with that.
It all depends on the MOB/NPC.
For example (going on memory here so...) Fambaas and most Mercenaries have a low resistance to Acid. As in none, and like a 15-20% resistance to heat.
For these mobs I use my HAR and have noticed a SIGNIFICANT gain in exp (anywhere from 500-800pts)when doing so.
For mobs with no heat resistancelike Bolle Bols and Mercenary Warlords, I use my flamethrower because the stats are slightly better and I have a higher flamethrower skill than Acid Rifle.
Flamethrower stats (memory again)
min 445
max 837
speed 3.8 secs
HAR stats
min 397
max 757
speed 3.7 secs.
So, moral of the story is...when you get to a lair, examine the mob and pick the best tool for the job. HAR does not suck and can really outdamage the flamethrower in certain situations. The combat spam numbers will not look as pretty, but exp gain will be noticable.
Good Luck out there,
